excellent a long day but worth every second. Guide and driver also excellent We saw everything that was stated
Excellent, well organised trip. Was very fast paced and due to someone getting lost and running short of time we missed the last activity. Highly recommend.
Supplier is operationally challenged but the guide was great and interested in all the guests. We were two hours late (it was not just traffic) getting back after being promised on time return which was important to me this day as I had another commitment.
The driving time during this trip was longer than visiting the sites. Taking the trip from Jerusalem means you have to go to Tel Aviv before starting the tour. With the multiple transfers and pickups, this probably added 2 to 3 hours to the total trip time.
The mandatory restaraunt was pretty bad and expensive (about $12 per person just for pita bread and some bad toppings and $24 if you want some meat).
It's a good way to see a lot of different sites in a short time frame, but don't expect to have a great time in between the sites. Our guide was good, but there's only so much you can do when sitting in the bus for 7 or 8 hours.
Be aware, you have to spend up to 7 hr total ONLY on a way to and from destination vs 6 or less hrs of sightseeing itself. I was picked up in JLM at 550am and dropped of at 850pm. Waited up to 15 min for each person to pickup, more than 1 hr for shuttles to gather ppl from hotels. Did not leave to Tel Aviv - 1 hr ride - to pick up TLV group till 730am. Guide joined only there. Unpleasant surprises: nothing in tour description was said ab a stop at baptismal site at Jordan, heard that first time from guide, many could get prepared instead of paying $25 for a robe or $10 for renting it. On the way back instead of sending TLV group by a separate van as we were told, we drove all the way back to almost TLV - 5 min from it, where the split took place. And we were only 30-35 ppl total on a bus, JLM group was even larger than TLV. AWEFUL service and ugly attitude of servers? they looked like crooks, at the lunch restaurant at Galilee Sea - $11 for salad bar and $22 for same with kebab or fish. American kind of coffee in thumbnail size plastic???? cups, no milk no sugar. Well, fresh dates. Half group waited for 50 min for meat/fish after salads, still were charged. Guide did not check on our tables until we came up to complain, he and driver sat at separate table and had the whole meal served right away. We had to wait for coffee, dates, separately as they dont serve until everyone is done w their meal. Bootcamp rules. Guide did not stand for us to demand refund or no charge for late meals. VERY poor logistics
The Guide was not great. She did not pay attention to keeping at a pace that would keep the group together. Two of us got seperated from the group while taking pictures. There were only about 20 people in our group to keep track of but she was too intent on trying to get through with the tour quickley. I admit that my fault was to pay more attention to the guide but my opinion is that they are paid to take care of us. We are in a foreing country at the mercy of the environment and culture and thats why we do tours. Aside from the poor guide. The sites were great. Every one of them. One other problem was when we got to the Jordan River we were not given any instructions on what to do there. Just told to meet back at a certain time. Many of us wanted to be baptized but were not told how to do this. So the best we could do is just get in the water and get some pictures of ourselves in the River. Very dissapointing. I did request baptism when I scheduled this particular tour. All in all. Go and do this....but hopefully with a different guide.
Not a v. cooperative guide - refused to make photos if one of the groups requested him to click a photo of them. Again pickup was about the worst from all our trips in Israel!
I had read the reviews before I booked the trip so I was prepared.
The guide was knowledgable and a nice man however, as with all organised tours, he gets commission from souvenir shops so an awful lot of time was spent in them while we seemed to be rushed around the sights that we visited.
We did indeed "drive past" Cana and the guide did point out several other "sights" as we drove past but we only stopped at the Church of the Annunication, the Church of St Joseph, Capernaum and the River Jordan...exactly as the tour promises.
I came prepared with my own lunch (thank you for your reviews section) and the rest of the tour group came out of the lunch stop complaining at how awful the food was and how expensive it was. 85ILS
