What You Can Expect
Kruger National Park
Leave Johannesburg early and depart by air-conditioned minivan to the heart of Kruger National Park, Africa’s vast game reserve, covering a region roughly the size of Wales or Rhode Island! After a journey of approximately four hours, arrive in Kruger’s southern region at a safari base camp. After freshening up, sit down to a delicious lunch and eat in the great outdoors.
See your first sights of Kruger’s legendary wildlife during an afternoon walking tour, led by your ranger guide. Following the park’s wilderness trails, watch animals ambling down to the waterhole and see birdlife in abundance before setting off on the day’s final activity – an evening game drive around the reserve. Return to camp for a relaxing dinner, served outside under the starry African night sky.
Overnight: Tsakane Safari Camp in Balule region of Kruger National Park
Days 2 and 3: Kruger National Park (B, L, D)
Both days follow the same itinerary.
Enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful dawn while eating breakfast, and then head out with your ranger guide on a morning safari walk. Deciphering tracks and signs left by passing animals in the night, you’ll follow a leisurely route to see the animals that Kruger National Park is so rightly famous for. Besides the impressive members of the Big Five (African elephants, Cape buffalos, leopards, lions and rhinos), keep an eye out for giraffes, hippos, springboks, zebras and more! Return to camp for a light lunch and free time to relax at your leisure. Perhaps beat the midday heat by lounging around the camp’s swimming pool with other members of your group.
In the afternoon, take another walk around the park’s wilderness trails and then enjoy a game drive that will take you even closer to the wildlife-rich spots around the reserve. Learn about the animals that make up the Big Five and take photos of these incredible creatures in their natural habitats.
Evening drinks are available for you to purchase back at camp, so relax with drink in hand and watch the sun set over the park. Tuck into a hearty dinner and spend the evening relaxing at leisure by the warm camp fire or resting up in your room.

Day 4: Kruger National Park – Johannesburg (B)
Set out early on your last day for one last walk and game drive around the park, looking out for tracks you might recognize and watching the wildlife wake up. Back at camp, sit down for breakfast with your group, and then board your minivan for your comfortable journey back to Johannesburg. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon.
