The place was sensational and having a personal guide who was a local helped tremendously - I can thoroughly recommend this option.

Petra was my second trip arranged in Jordan first was to Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea. Petra is a must see place in Jordan. My driver and companion for the whole day was waiting for me in the hotel. He was very professional, with a great English and knowledge about Jordan. The trip in the car passed very quickly. Unfortunately the driver is not allowed to enter with you in Petra and you are given a tourist guide who spoiled my day. The guy was rushing, and only waiting for the tip. He also promised the driver to inform him about my return but he never did so the driver was really worried. I would have done much better if I visited Petra without the tourist guide. He is included in the trip but you can always refuse to take him just like I refused taking a short trip on a horse. Fortunately, I only had to stay with the guide till we reached the Treasury which took us 40 minutes and then I discovered Petra on my own. It's a great place to visit but those who watched Indiana Jones movie might be a bit disappointed as the caves are empty inside. Nevertheless I would recommend this trip and have given the highest rate because the organization was perfect it's not agency's fault that Petra has such an awful guides. My driver was a great companion and I got to know from him lots about Jordan. I am sure I will be back there for longer and will see Petra by night.

The driver was at the hotel on time and the car was clean. The driver was polite and easy to speak to. The drive from Amman is long but well worth it in order to see Petra. We did not feel rushed in any way.

It was an amazing experience to visit Petra. We had a very friendly driver who took us down and back. The tour operator contacted us when we arrived in Amman. We wish to thank her for help.

Petra is an absolute must if visiting Jordan. However, what truly made my day was my driver. Definitely an unforgettable day.

Petra is an amazing place to visit and the Jordanian people are very friendly and helpful. Our guide was well-informed and made our visit very enjoyable.

Our trip included a chauffeur-driven car, not a bus as we expected. Our driver was very good and extremely obliging. His English was very good, and there was no rush to do anything; we had all the time we wanted. Petra is a must, but three hours in Petra was enough. Our driver explained everything before we entered Petra, which certainly was useful. Do not take the option to take the short horse ride, it's not worth it. Tipping is a must, despite having fully paid for the trip. Breakfast and lunch for the driver are on you. Nevertheless, it was worth it. There were plenty of photo shots. Highly recommended.

First off, Petra is amazing. However, if you go to Petra and look at the prices it costs to enter, have a horse ride etc, you will feel very cheated indeed! We realised we probably paid 3-4 times higher than if we had taken a car through our hotel and paid the entrance fees at Petra. However, the guide at Petra was amazing and it was great to have the whole trip organized in advance and all under one roof. I guess it is pot luck with the driver you get to take you there. Ours was an obnoxious bore who we had to endure for 3 hours there and 3 hours back. If I were to go back again, I would check in to one of the hotels at Petra and find my own way around Petra city. Petra is amazing and definitely a must do! You get hassled a bit by little kids begging, but they are so cute your are compelled to give them some dollars.

Although this is an amazing site, it ends up being extremely expensive, and the original listing does not let you know that. The guide only did one third of the tour; we had to pay again for the second third. We had to book three different modes of transportation to do the trip, another WEE detail they neglected to mention. The horse and buggy trip was dangerous and frightening, I seriously thought we were going to be hurt. In North America, the driver would have been arrested for cruelty to animals. We paid twice for a guide that gave almost no service, as our transportation kept him from interacting with us. I wish we had known that. Our guide did make the trip there and back very comfortable though, and stopped regularly for us to stretch and have a drink. He was sort of the saving grace to the whole day.

Very glad we did a private tour and not a massive group tour. The cost of the trip went to hotel pick up and drop off, transport to Petra and entry to Petra guide included. There was no where near enough time at Petra and the trip to Petra took a very long time due to frequent stops for the driver to have a cigarette or show you a tourist shop where prices are significantly elevated. The car was small and the driver was tall so the person behind the driver had no leg room for the entire trip. On the positive side , we could stop for photos whenever we wanted and we went to a good little restaurant for schwarmas on the way home. Driver was nice enough.

The reason why I do not recommend is because of the driver. When we got to Petra, he proposed us to be back in 1.30hrs, but we pushed to 2hrs thinking we could see everything we wanted. At the end, we realized that we needed at least 3hrs. Besides the tour says 10hrs right 6hrs travel time to Petra both ways plus 4hrs of site seeing. I felt ripped off by the driver.
