Thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, we did see some whales! The Glacier was worth seeing as well. Recommend.
It was wonderful the whales were amazing and out host were friendly and knowledgeable
The highlights of this tour ware the glacier and especially the whale watch. We saw several pods of whales bubble feeding. It was amazing to see. Yje sights of Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls were also phenomenal.
This is the best way to see whales up close and we saw them bubble netting as well as breaching. Mendenhall glacier was good and the hike to the falls is worth it. The city tour was not that great.
Went on the combo tour and really enjoyed it. Would have liked to spend a little more time at the Glacier. We where only their for about 30 minutes. The gentlemen that took us on the whale watching was excellent!!
Great excursion. Guides were great and informative. Professionally run and organized.we really enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this excursion.
Great value! Got to see everything in a perfect amount of time. The whale watching was great fun and definitely saw whales, we had enough time at the glacier to take a short hike to the waterfall which was lovely and the city tour was short and sweet. Great excursions
We loved everything about our excursion. AJ and Captain John were great and we enjoyed watching 4 different whales, including a mama and her calf! We did our city tour first, then whale watching, followed by the Mendenhall Glacier. This allowed us sufficient time to view the glacier, Nugget Falls and hike the East Loop trail. The shuttles run consistently into 7 pm, which was convenient.
Best tour of the trip! Brian and Amanda provided an experience we will never forget. Fabulous boat--Brian is the owner and captain. Amanda is the eagle-eyed naturalist who can spot whales before anyone else does. We had 2 mesmerizing hours watching a mom and pup play and a 3rd we couldn't identify.
It was a fantastic tour and value for money. We enjoyed the tour very much.
This was an AMAZING day!!! Precise timing allowed us to take in the breathtaking beauty of Mendenhall Glacier - complete with a walk to the waterfalls!! Then, our Juneau Tours escort took us to Auke Bay where Chelsea and Dirk educated us on the area with amazing views of Bald Eagles, Sea Lions and a Momma Whale with her VERY active calf!!! - TOO cool!! Finally, Ed took us for a trolley ride through down town and over to Douglas island giving us a feel for what the Gold Rush era entailed as well as what life is like today in Juneau. Beautiful day -- SO worth it!!
Great tour. Whale watching has been the high point of our trip so far! Thank you Captain Steve, Captain Dirk and Chelsea!
Wow, Rachel and the capt were amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable! We saw 11 humpback whales bubble netting 10 feet from our boat, what else could u ask for. Can't recommend them highly enough. This tour was an amazing once in a lifetime experience.
Took a cruise ship scheduled tour to the same area last year. This tour was much better. A comfortable, newer boat that took us right out to the many whales in the area. We all had ample deck area to observe and take pics from. This was my favorite tour, to date.
Very well done! Very well done at a very reasonable price. Tour afforded me the flexibility to spend as much time at Mendenhall Glacier as you wanted.. Well run and excellent Guides, drivers staff. Not that it happens on each tour, but on our whale watching cruise we were privileged to witness 2 "bubble ups" thanks to our "Juneau Whale Watch" Captain.who got us to the action! What an amazing memory and photo op!
My wife, Julie, and I were both thrilled with this tour. From the very beginning to the very end there was a great degree of personalized service and congenial conversation. Ben the bus driver was a native Tlingit and delighted us by stopping along the route so we could have a photo op of dozens of salmon entering a stream to spawn. While we were there, a Bald Eagle came to rest atop a nearby tree. Then we spent a couple of hours walking around the Tongas National Forrest enjoying the sights of the Mendenhall Glacier and the nearby waterfall. The next shuttle driver, Donald drove us out to the docks were we saw 30-40 bald eagles scavenging on the shore looking more like a flock of buzzards than eagles. Then the boat captain, Ken, took us out to view the whales - holy cow batman! We were nearly on top of them, he had to work hard to maintain the proximity rules as the whales kept coming right toward us as they used the bubble net fishing technique. Our on-board biologitst, Michelle, explained the process and was a fount of fun trivia about not only the humpbacks we saw but also the harbor seals and the stellar sea lions. We could not have been more pleased. The weather was perfect, the wildlife was spectacular and the staff was exceptional. We even got a bonus, on the way from the glacier to the doc, we got to see a black bear crossing a field, right near the Walmart - definitely inside the city limits of Juneau. It was an experience that will last a lifetime.
This tour was very fascinating because everyday is a new adventure. Whale watching was very personal and supportive interaction was positive. All the drivers had a very honoring role with the established community which made it positive. Nature has so many amazing features and the Juneau shore excursion staff assisted our party with humor and sparking delights. I would give it a 5 star.
Wonderful excursion! The guides were great and very informative.
Are Juno and the whale watching tour was excellent captain TJ and the rest of the crew were great the city tour showed us things we would have never been able to see within the limited amount of time we had and we appreciate everybody you made a great day.
Overall the tour was excellent, but wish the communication was better between the company and customers. We were dropped off at Mendenhall glacier and told look for a grey bus at this time. I would have liked a little more info about the transfer to the whale watching, but we worked it out.
