Awesome experience!!! Got more than I was expecting, including mid morning fruit, refreshment and lunch. Visitors are encouraged to touch and pat the elephants and monkeys. They encourage tipping to buy fruit for the animals which you can feed them, which also helps ensure the animals eat well. The guide was excellent and was responsible for the small group for the entire day, spoke clearly and was very friendly and happy to provide comphrehensive insights into the animals, sights and answer your questions. The animal experience was amazing. We even stopped to see tigers. Take some extra baht for photos, tips, tigers. Overall, excellent value.
Good entertainment and Good Value. Although some tours double up E.G. Elepnat and Monkey shows.
Was a good day full of good surprises extra bonus events added ad hoc. Hosting tour company and local staff are absolutely polite and pay extra effort for your comfort!! Swim at the falls, elephant ride, watching her eat Thai apples while riding was precious memory! The monkey training was interesting but felt the monkeys shouldn't have been in restraints.
I enjoyed this, but as we were only two on this trip, our guide was trying to find things for us to do to pass time. The elephants did not appear to be as well kept as elephants on other trip I booked locally.
I really, really wanted to love this tour. I booked this tour before I left to Thailand thrilled at the idea of riding an elephant. The description describes a lengthy elephant ride (30 minutes), implies that the elephant ride might be somewhere beautiful and picturesque to "see Koh Samui's natural wilderness from a different perspective". I liked the notion of the cooking class and other demonstrations, with lunch included. Its possible that I was put on the wrong tour, because what I got was very different than described, quite unusual with my experiences with Viator.
The driver who picked me up at the hotel was careless, drove insanely fast and almost injured other tourists by driving into flora and fauna that scraped into the back of the truck opening. The local safari that he brought us to was not very clean or organized. The safari displayed a very sad young elephant chained to a post who was "dancing" for us with music, but the animal did not seem to be in the best health, nor did the chained conditions seem pleasant. The monkey show was similar in nature, the chains on the animals detracting greatly from the experience. The elephant ride was about 10 minutes, taking us through back paths filled with trash, debris and homes of very poor locals. Lunch was not included, though I was taken on a tour to the grandmother and grandfather rock, the big buddha, the mummified monk, a waterfall and a local town with about an hour for lunch and sightseeing which was very rushed. I was hoping to see the elephants in a more natural setting, and left instead feeling very sad and sorry for the animals. I would not recommend this particular tour.
I was not really impressed with this tour. Firstly, the English of the staff which conducted the tour was far below average, making it hard for a tourist such as ourselves to communicate with the tour guide for any requests. The tour did not provide sufficient clean amenities and toilets for your customers. The elephant trekking section of the tour was too short. The vehicle was not air-conditioned as your advertisements mentioned. The vehicle that was provided on the tour was far far below working condition and was the left over 1949 war jeep which continually broke down during the tour and continued to stop and cut out. The jeep was in such bad condition that due to my poor back condition I was left in quite alot of pain at the end of the tour because the roads and the seating conditions were so bad that my back received quite a beating! I would not recommended this tour to anyone here again.
