What You Can Expect
Toy Train to Ghum in Darjeeling
The next day, head to Ghum (or Ghoom) and board the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a steam engine that's dubbed the 'Toy Train,' to the summit to watch a gorgeous sunrise over the Himalayas.
Your private guide will then take you on a sightseeing tour of the city to visit sites like the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park. End the day with a stroll through local markets and enjoy yummy Indian bites from food stalls (own expense).
On your third and fourth days, enjoy free time back in Kolkata to explore the city at your leisure. Discover gems like the Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge and Mother Theresa’s Mission and Mother House.
Daily breakfast and dinners are served at the hotel, but you can choose to have dinner at a local restaurant if you wish. During your free time, your private driver is available to take you around the city (at additional cost).
You’ll stay at your choice of 4- to 5-star hotels. Round-trip transportation is included, and you have the option to include flights in the price or pre-book flights on your own.

Itinerary
You’ll be picked up from your Kolkata hotel in the morning and taken to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra. When you arrive, your driver will take you to Darjeeling.
Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day to relax or walk around Darjeeling at your leisure. Dinner will be served at the hotel in the evening.

Day 2: Darjeeling (B, D)
Early in the morning, your guide will drive you to Ghum (or Ghoom). When you get to this small hilly area, take a train ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway ('Toy Train') -- the highest railway station in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site -- up to the summit, Tiger Hill. You’ll be met here with a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas, with rays projected beautifully on Mt Kanchendzonga.
Your guide will also take you to Ghum Monastery and Batasia Loop War Memorial. Return to the bottom of the mountain by Jeep and arrive back at your hotel for breakfast.
The rest of the morning is yours to relax at the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour with your guide. Drive around Darjeeling and visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center. Your guide will teach you all about the history and culture of the city.
Take an evening stroll to the mall area to browse food stalls and markets. Try some traditional Indian treats or purchase any souvenirs that catch your eye (own expense). Then, return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3: Darjeeling – Bagdogra – Kolkata (B, D)
After breakfast, you’ll head to Bagdogra for your flight back to Kolkata. Upon arrival, you’ll receive luggage assistance and be taken to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day to relax or explore the city at your leisure.
Discover impressive architectural gems like Victoria Memorial and Howrah Bridge, and visit religious sanctuaries such as Mother Teresa’s Mission and Mother House and the Jain Temple. In the evening, dinner will be served at your hotel.

Day 4: Kolkata (B)
Your check-out time is noon, so you have all morning to relax or sightsee on your own. You’ll then be taken to the airport for your departure flight.
