The actual Auschwitz-Birkenau tour was very good. The guide was knowledgeable and very respectful regarding the incidence which happened there.
I expected a bit more from the escort, on the bus ride over to Auschwitz. She put on a documentary on the way there which gave us a pretty good overview. That was the extent of her, or the drivers interaction with us.
One the way back, it would have been nice if she or the driver spoke something about the area we were traveling through, maybe gave us some interesting facts about the towns (or even the names) we were passing through. The bus driver and the escort talked to each other all the way home and didn't interact with the passengers at all, except to thank us for using the service and they hoped we have a good rest of the trip.
This is the first time I ever experienced no interaction with the escort on a trip.

Tour was well organised, very informative and educational. Tour guide was excellent, eye opening, sobering and overwhelming all at the same time. Would highly recommend it.

It was an excellent tour. We were totally satisfied with the agency that supplied the driver and car, also the guide was very good. She was Polish and very passionate about the subject and delivered her message appropriately and clearly. As there was only six persons in the tour, we received very personal attention and very comfortable. It also commenced quite early, which meant we were ahead of the main large tour groups. This tour has already been recommended to other tourists we have met along the way. One particular was through trip advisor my wife reviewed and conversed through other travellers questions.

The early departure was really good as we got there before most of the big groups. Guide was great and knowledgeable.

Driver and guide were great. Much nicer to be part of a small group rather than a coach load.

The Viator Aushwitz- Birkenau tour was excellent. The tour group was relatively small and fit into a van rather than a large bus. This made things move a lot quicker through the sites and exhibits. We did the early tour ( meet van at 7:15 am) so arrived before many of the larger groups and were able to see all the important displays and not have to wait as what normally happens when you have multiple tour groups going through museums. The drive was pleasant and you got to view a lot of the country side- beautiful small towns along the route. They showed a documentary film on the way down which gives historical information and gives the background information behind the camps. We were given a sack lunch of 2 sdw.s ( veg and chicken), water, and a pear. Once we arrived at the site, another tour guide ( associated with the museum) accompanied us through Auscwitz and Birkenau. Once thing I really liked is we were all given head sets to wear which amplified the tour guides voice so hearing was never a problem. I recommend doing both camps as Aushwitz is more like a museum and Birkenau more like a concentration camp because you see the actual living conditions the people had to endure. I was surprised at the vastness of Birkenau - the sheer size alone was mind boggling. I was also suprised how much of what we saw was the original and not reproductions. This makes the tour very personable and real when you see the photographs or view their possessions and see where they lived. Definetly a sobering experience to do this tour but serves as an example of how important and valuable tolerance is.

This tour was very well done. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend the small group tour as we moved through each area with more ease than the large groups and had the opportunity to ask questions along the way.
I would also recommend booking the tour as early in the day as possible to avoid the crowds.

This was a very well-organised trip from beginning to end. No need to say, emotionally difficult, but absolutely worth it.

Tour started early which was great. Saved us lots of time in queue. The tour guide, transportation were 5 star as well. Showed up on time, communicated and took care of us. I even forgot my cellular in the van and they brought it back to me later in the afternoon. Auschwitz itself is hard to describe, but a must see. We also did the salt mines in the afternoon which were amazing.

Excellent tour driver and tour guide who made the whole tour enjoyable and at a good price. However I would have preferred to have had more time to at the two concentration camps sites to fully appreciate the magnitude of human suffering that occurred.

It was definitely worth doing the small group trip and arriving early. There were only 4 of us and our guide managed to keep us separate from other big groups. Auschwitz is not something you want to experience with loads of people. It was such a moving experience.
