The early start was great as we missed the crowds and had a much quieter and less rushed tour. Our guide Maciej was very sensitive and knowledgeable and allowed us time to think about what we were seeing. By the time we left it was getting very busy with coaches and long queues. We would thoroughly recommend this tour easpecially with the guide we had.
A must see if in Krakow, tour was very well organised, and a great tour guide team!
We were picked up in the city center 0700 to start our small group 8 people tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau. As we drove we watched an introductory film. Once we arrived to the camp we were given about 15 minutes to use WC and grab a coffee out of the vending machine. It was a rainy day and the driver offered rain poncho to those who needed them. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Each of us received 2 sandwiches, a piece of fruit, granola bar, juice and water. I snacked before entering both camps and then as we drove back to Krakow. I think this is the only way to get the full experience, very emotional day for me. The coordination/planning of this tour was awesome!! I wasn't to happy getting up so early but in the end I was so happy I booked this tour. As we were leaving the big tour buses and mass groups were just arriving. We were able to hear our tour guide and get some amazing photos without fighting the crowds. I highly recommend this tour.
Was everything advertised. Pickup at hotel was prompt. We were first group to the Memorial. The guide was invested and terrific. And we were a small group.
Tastefully done which is important for such a sensitive subject and place. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wishes to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Transfers were on time and easy, the lunch was quite decent and the tour guides very knowledgeable. It was nice having a small group which allowed for a more intimate setting - important for such a place.
A safe driver and a comfortable car took us to Auschwitz-Birkenau before it became somewhat crowded. Our excellent guide took us through the history with empathy, knowledge and perspective. A very well-organized trip. Of course, this is a must for visitors to Krakow and we highly recommend this tour. For us it was enough to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau and digest what we saw and heard and felt during the tour, not going to the salt mines the same day.
The trip was wonderful but sad. The group was small enough to enable everyone to hear. Our driver and guide were both excellent. We would recommend this trip to everyone.
Excellent tour, Martyn. the guide was really interesting. It was a moving experience and although we were a little apprehensive about going I am glad we did and pleased we were a small group.
No words can describe the experience...very emotional but educational tour. Put this on the top of your travel list to Kraków.
The tour guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and appropriate. In my 'small group' I was the only one who showed- so luckily mine was pretty much a private tour. Lunch was good- a tasty sandwich, fruit, biscuit/waffer, and water. Time/ length was perfect- I was back to my hotel a little early. But that's probably because I was the only person so the whole thing was at my own pace. The price for this package was very reasonable. Recommended!
The hotel pickup was easy and convenient, our guide was pleasant and the video documentary on the way was very powerful. Our guide at the Auschwitz museum itself was phenomenal, and made the experience very real and emotional for us. This is an experience everyone should have, but it is not easy emotionally. The lunch was basic, but was enough. Birkenau is a must see after visiting Auschwitz and I was glad that this tour included both. I recommend a visit to Schindler's factory before taking this tour, as it provides a lot of great background on the start of the war and the German takeover. It is worth noting that you are not allowed to bring purses or bags larger than an 8x11 sheet of paper in with you, so leave them behind at your hotel and bring only the essentials. We were able to leave our bags locked on the bus, but I would've felt better had I just left it behind completely. It was safe on the bus, however.
Definitely worth spending the money and seeing the former concentration camp on this tour. Our guide was insightful, sensitive and thought provoking. She really brought to life the history of the camp and gave meaning to the prisoner's experiences.
Our driver was friendly and the included lunch was very nice. Buying lunch at the onsite cafe was very expensive!
Thanks to our guide, driver and the company for an excellent tour.
Great tour!!! It was very informative and covered all you would want to know about these places. It was very somber and hard to imagine that this really took place. A must do for any one who is interested in World War Two history.
It was a very moving experience and one if you are in Poland you should do. Agnes our tour guide was excellent very knowledgable and obviously very passionate about her job.
Viator I,m really happy with another trip that I have booked through yourselves. Was a bit unsure as my last trips were booked in America, but 1st class and will certainly book more when I,m in any other countries that you have trips there.
Keep up the good work.
