As Catholics and from Malta where Pope John 2 came twice, this tour was a must for us. The chapel of the Divine Mercy was also a place of great serenity where we prayed.
Thanks to a wonderful guide.
As I was the only one on the tour I had a private car with a wonderful guide, Annette,on a wonderful introduction to Poland and John Paul.
This tour was very rushed. We would have liked more time at each of the stops. The guide was very knowledgable and interested in the history. We just didnt have enough time to enjoy.
This was the one place we really were looking forward to. We were very disappointed with this tour. Our guide was a non-practicing Catholic- was in a hurry all the time - and at the end dropped us somewhere in the middle of Krakow. For the other tours we were dropped beside our hotels.
The tour guide was extremely rushed and did not provide much insight into the tour. Rather long way to drive for such a short tour. Very disappointing.
Although the tour lasted the 5 hours stated, and the tour guide very good, we would have liked to have had an hour to ourselves to take a look around Wadowice itself, as a good example of a typical small town in Poland.
It was good overview, but it was too brief at Widowice, did not have enough time for prayers and visiting. But the guide was good.
This trip is far too long and unless you are obsessed with John Paul do not go on this trip. We left at 9:30am and didn't get back until 3.00pm. We didnt even stop long enough for lunch or even a cup of coffee.
