Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Krakow Super Saver: Auschwitz-Birkenau Half-Day Tour plus Wieliczka Salt Mine Half-Day Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Well organised tour. Helpful driver and guides. From the horror of Auschwitz to the beauty of the salt mines was a sharp reminder of the best and worst that lies within man. A great tour.
Both tours were run on time and I was picked up from my hotel on time. The groups are big,the guides thorough and speak through a earphone given to you.Big groups do mean you have to wait for everyone to start or end the tour or wLk from a to b,but this was not much of a hindrance.the buses are comfortable Mercedes mini vans. The aushwitz is a long day,the mines only 3-4 hours. Both not to be missed out in my opinion!!
Such a sobering place, but the transportation and information provided by Viator exceeded our high expectations. JB from South Carolina, USA
This was a very moving part of history trip, this is defiantly one trip you must do. It was the best of all our trips, highly recommend. And the guide was brilliant and knew her stuff,THANKYOU for a great day out.
We were picked up at the hotel and looked after well. We were handed over to english speaking guides at both auschwitz and wielicza for the actual tour. When we finished, we found our guide and transport with no problem. Guides were friendly and pleasant and kept everything moving without pressuring us. Although you can do both these sites without an organised tour, it was so smooth and easy with someone to organise tickets and guides. Well worth it.
Excellent tour! The knowledge of the tour guide was fantastic. Would recommend to friends
Incredible experience for both the half day tours. Auschwitz, its a visit that every person should do in his life. Forget watching documentaries, films, etc, you need to experience the place. The salt mines tour on the other hand, leaves you breathless on what mankind can achieve and how beautiful nature is. The local tour guides for both the Auschwitz and Salt mines where very informative, comfortable mini vans and very organised.
Very knowledgable guides. The two tours were both two long days that included lots of walking and stairs. Excellent and informative.
Excellent tours, transport and guides. Thoroughly recommended. It would have been nice to have had at least half an hour/forty minutes for lunch at Auschwitz, but there wasn't time to make use of the cafe there. Similarly at the end, a little more time would have allowed us to queue to see inside the tower at the entrance to Birkenau. Other than that, excellent.
Really good guides learnt a lot, but you need to be fit to walk as there is a lot of walking on these tours
Both these tours were very informative and the tour guides were very knowledgeable. The tour guides were very helpful and nothing was any trouble for them.
The Auschwitz-Birkenau tour was very sad but very real.
The Salt Mine was absolutely beautiful and unbelievable!!
These two tours are on separate days, at first I thought they were on One day!!
This five stars are for the sights and value, not the guides. The tours were very well worth the money. One cannot say that one liked going to Auschwitz and Birkenau, but it is an important place to witness. The driver was courteous and picked us up exactly on time. The Salt Mines tour (as in the one done by the Polish tour guide) was excellent and is a fascinating place to see. The tour company guides on this trip were among the worst ever encountered anywhere in the world. We were to be picked up at 9:00 outside the apartment we were renting. At 8:55, the guide called to say they would be 5 minutes late. We were so impressed by that. At 9:25, WE called HIM to find out what was happening and if we had been forgotten. Ten minutes later, the van showed up. We were so late in getting to the Salt Mines that we were rushed inside without ability to use the restrooms or purchase a photo pass which enables you to take pictures inside. Generally, a guide will tell you if you can leave things on the bus, but Jan never did. It was only when my husband asked if we could leave things that he said no. So everyone had to go back on and retrieve their belongings. as we would be going home on a different mini-bus. After the tour we asked Jan how much time we would have in the gift shop. His curt answer...we leave as soon, Again, we asked how long, and again he never gave a proper answer to anyone. We asked the other guide (name unknown) where the buses were and she said to walk to the parking lot. We arrived to find two tour company buses, one full and one nearly empty. We asked the driver if it mattered which bus we boarded. He spoke no English and so we waited in the hot sun for someone to show up. After 10 minutes we asked the driver again and he called the guide. She told us to wait in the parking lot, which we did for another 10 minutes only to eventually find out that our bus was not, nor had it ever been, in the parking lot, but was down the street. Good value; poor staff.
