It was an excellent tour and enjoyed the history told by the guide.
Tour was well organised. Guide was very well spoken and informative
What a wonderful and unique experience. our guide was amazing and spoke with such passion about the mine. She was engaging and knew so many facts, answered all our questions and told some good jokes too!! The mine is simply an amazing experience and we only explored such a small part of it. A wonderful service all round.
Prepare to do a lot of walking. Unique experience...love it.
Well organised tour, plenty of walking around the mines which takes some three hours.A really unusual experience which i would recommend.
I really enjoyed this trip. We went in the late afternoon and the mines were very quiet with very few small parties wandering around. I was able to see everything easily and we had plenty of time to view it all.
The first descent of 400 wooden steps is a little daunting, and one could become dizzy. Some steps were wet, someone slipped - so hold onto the banister as you go.
The polish guide knew her stuff with many interesting facts given. There was a cafe down at the lowest level which was very convenient as the tour lasts 11/2 hours. There are also toilets in several locations.
The good news is you return to the surface in a very fast lift!!
Highly recommend this trip.
I wasn't sure as to how much I would enjoy this tour but it is with out doubt something you need to do if you are visiting poland! Absolutely beautiful!!! A lot of stairs though but very very worth it!!!!
As we were the only people who had booked to do the trip on that afternoon, we received a very personal service, being collected by Annette the guide, who was very friendly and helpful, in her car and driven to Wieliczka, and then collected by her and returned to Krakow afterwards. The mines were fantastic, and a must for anyone visiting Krakow. To see a cathedral built nearly a kilometre underground, as well as lakes, and many other carvings and rooms was incredible and well worth the 2.5 hours the tour took. There was a considerable amount of walking involved and a lot of steps, but it was well worth it to see something that is unique in my experience.
