Tour was well organised. Guide was very well spoken and informative
What a wonderful and unique experience. our guide was amazing and spoke with such passion about the mine. She was engaging and knew so many facts, answered all our questions and told some good jokes too!! The mine is simply an amazing experience and we only explored such a small part of it. A wonderful service all round.
Prepare to do a lot of walking. Unique experience...love it.
Well organised tour, plenty of walking around the mines which takes some three hours.A really unusual experience which i would recommend.
I really enjoyed this trip. We went in the late afternoon and the mines were very quiet with very few small parties wandering around. I was able to see everything easily and we had plenty of time to view it all.
The first descent of 400 wooden steps is a little daunting, and one could become dizzy. Some steps were wet, someone slipped - so hold onto the banister as you go.
The polish guide knew her stuff with many interesting facts given. There was a cafe down at the lowest level which was very convenient as the tour lasts 11/2 hours. There are also toilets in several locations.
The good news is you return to the surface in a very fast lift!!
Highly recommend this trip.
I wasn't sure as to how much I would enjoy this tour but it is with out doubt something you need to do if you are visiting poland! Absolutely beautiful!!! A lot of stairs though but very very worth it!!!!
As we were the only people who had booked to do the trip on that afternoon, we received a very personal service, being collected by Annette the guide, who was very friendly and helpful, in her car and driven to Wieliczka, and then collected by her and returned to Krakow afterwards. The mines were fantastic, and a must for anyone visiting Krakow. To see a cathedral built nearly a kilometre underground, as well as lakes, and many other carvings and rooms was incredible and well worth the 2.5 hours the tour took. There was a considerable amount of walking involved and a lot of steps, but it was well worth it to see something that is unique in my experience.
This place is unique and the tour gives an opportunity of appreciate all the beauty and the historical facts about the salt mine.
Excellent company to go through. Very good management of day with easy transportation to and from the salt mines from central Krakow and clear instruction once you are there at the mines. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, personal transport to the mines on this occasion, tour guide Joanna was lovely
Absolutely amazing! You have to see it to believe it. The photos don't do it justice.
Our guide was friendly and the tour operator (Krakow Tours) were really good too.
The travel arrangements worked well. The walk through the salt mine was most interesting. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke excellent English, so there was no communication problem.
Tour was outstanding, however,I was the first to be picked up by a van 1 hour before the tour.In reality I was on the bus 1hour and 20 minutes before reaching a consolidation place. Then another 30-40 min. ride to the mine. That is a long time to ride.
I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Krakow.
When I booked from the US, I did not know the bus would bt at a large parking area right across from the hotel where I was staying, Hotel Kossak.
The tour, which operated under Crakow Tours, was on time, well organized and a comfortable ride.
There are a lot of stairs going down, but manageable.....and a lift going up! The carvings all made from salt were well worth it. there is a gift shop at the end, and the little salt candle holders are a nice gift.
The guide was fantastic. The salt mines are amazing, we would highly tex come d this tour.
Fascinating trip, really enjoyed it. Would suggest however that it should be stated during the booking process that a certain degree of physical effort is required (lots of stairs).
This was a very interesting tour. Anna, our tour guide, spoke English very well and was very pleasant during the tour. Make certain you wear comfortable walking shoes as you have to walk down 380 stairs!!
