Charles was awesome. Very friendly, knew all the cool places and has such a repore with the local chefs we can walk into their kitchen and watch the food be prepared. Overall a very good evening.
A fun evening with an enthusiastic and very informative guide, giving us a great insight to where and how the locals live and eat!
Charles as an excellent guide who stuffed us with food until our eyes popped out!! Charles gave us plenty of information about the food we ate and gave us insight into the daily life and cultural workings in malaysia. Fabulous experience!
Stunning trip - thank you thank you thank you. The food was just stunning. This was clearly the best part of our trip to KL

This tour is a wonderful introduction to Malaysian food. Farah was our guide and she did a great job in telling us about the food and customs of the different ethnic meals we sampled. We began with a Malay meal at a popular Malay hawkers covered eating place. We tried food that we would never have considered tasting. It was delicious. From there by car to a semi covered popular Chinese eating place. A meal tasting a variety of their favourite dishes. Finally to a large And busy Indian hawkers eatery for a taste of their curries and naan bread. All the food was tasty. We loved this tour and would recommend it as a must-do.
Fantastic tour really enjoyed it. Our guide was very good she spoke very good English. We got to try lots of local food and drink and it made a change to get out of the Tourist area. Would recommend for any one visiting KL who love there food. If you like nice restaurants then this isn't for you.
This is a must do trip, it was superb. We were lucky to have Charles as our guide and Rubin drove us around in a spacious and very clean mini bus. Accompanied by two Australians and two Canadaians this was a very like minded group. They were great fun and contributed to the enjoyment level immensley. The tour was to finish at 10pm, we were still eating at 11.20pm. I think we would have still been at it now had it not been for a cruel rainstorm that interupted our enjoyment. To cap a perfect evening, Charles and Rubin dropped us all off at our hotel doors.
Great excursion. Charlie is a character and a great host. Just be aware the meeting point is out of KL Central, about 30mins by rail.
Our tour guide is Charlie. He is really informative, friendly and fun. For those of you who want to enjoy the local food of Malaysia please join with this tour. Really reccomend!!
This was a really really cool experience. Our tour guide was AMAZING. I think his name was Charlie. We got to try the food the traditional local way. It was such an amazing experience. We enjoyed it very much.
What a fantastic tour. Sarah our guide was very informative and took us to a variety of food outlets sampling Malay, Chinese and Indian dishes. The night market was particularly good. Four guests was a great number to ensure an intimate tour and to hear all the information about the food. All in all this was a great tour especially in 'Rexy' the little green car. I would thoroughly recommend this to savour the variety of tastes and flavours of Malaysia. Good value for money, you certainly won't leave this hungry!
Our guides were easy to locate. They were keen to establish our tastes in food and challenged us to explore new dishes. We certainly were exposed to a variety of different dishes and certainly met the locals.
I would recommend it to any person visiting KL.
They started this tour early just for us as we were just passing through on trains and it was well worth it even though we had to cut it short. Great food variation, good guide - even threw in a whistle stop photo opportunity tour!! Definitely a must if you like eating at little local restaurants. The food is very cheap (but good) but you're paying a little money for a very good personal tour.
Fantastic experience. Our guide Piaree was wonderful. We learnt lots and had such fun. Would thoroughly recommend.
It was very difficult to get to meeting point none of the taxi drivers new where to go but when we got there it was FANTASTIC .Our guide was so entertaining and made sure we were comfortable at all times .I would not have normally eaten street food but felt very confident with our guide and the food was great. At the end of the evening we were dropped off at our hotel. Thanks Charles
Farrah (our tour guide) was just fabulous. Her enthusiasm and knowledge made for a fantastic night. The place we ate at were off the beaten track, but delicious. I would recommend this tour to anyone staying in KL.
Now feel this is a must especially if you have a guide named Plaree, what a wonderful your woman she was, our taxi got us to meeting point very late and she had waited, her knowledge to the area was first rate, and the food very different for us. Three different cultures food, traditional Malay, Chinese, and Indian, they were at places where certainly white people would not venture so was very exciting. Plaree then took us into the city for a wonderful tour plus photos, wonderful experience .
Great hostess , treated to a great night with a special hostess that made the night the highlight of our stay, thanks.
Over the year I have done a lot of different trips all over the world! This was one of the best!
Absolutely fantastic. Our guide (Piaree ) was great. Picked up from the railways station on time. Taken in her car to some fantastic restaurants and ate such magnificent food. She was more like a friend than a guide. Just wonderful. The food was the best food I have ever tasted. Loved the follow up email where she described the food we ate and the fantastic photos. Do yourself a favour. Go on this trip. We will again when we are next in KL.
Excellent tour! Farah was a great tour guide and contacted me beforehand to give directions on how to get to the meeting point. The food was yummy and the company was excellent.
Very intresting and good food. Great guide. I can highly recommend this tour.
c ertainly entertaining and worth while to partake.
Really some new dinig experience
The best tip for any tourist is to get to know the locals. You can’t substitute a good conversation with any tourist brochure, nor can you say you’ve fully experienced Malaysia (or any country for that matter) unless you’ve gotten to know its people. Having a local food guide will make your food adventure a whole lot easier and possibly more enjoyable as well.
We get to peek into the deliciousness that is Malaysia’s multiculturalism, and witness the greatest pork-soup fired cover of We Are the World ever. Seriously. Ever.
