Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Eat Like a Local: Kuala Lumpur Hawker Center and Street Food Tour by Night. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
They started this tour early just for us as we were just passing through on trains and it was well worth it even though we had to cut it short. Great food variation, good guide - even threw in a whistle stop photo opportunity tour!! Definitely a must if you like eating at little local restaurants. The food is very cheap (but good) but you're paying a little money for a very good personal tour.
Fantastic experience. Our guide Piaree was wonderful. We learnt lots and had such fun. Would thoroughly recommend.
It was very difficult to get to meeting point none of the taxi drivers new where to go but when we got there it was FANTASTIC .Our guide was so entertaining and made sure we were comfortable at all times .I would not have normally eaten street food but felt very confident with our guide and the food was great. At the end of the evening we were dropped off at our hotel. Thanks Charles
Farrah (our tour guide) was just fabulous. Her enthusiasm and knowledge made for a fantastic night. The place we ate at were off the beaten track, but delicious. I would recommend this tour to anyone staying in KL.
Now feel this is a must especially if you have a guide named Plaree, what a wonderful your woman she was, our taxi got us to meeting point very late and she had waited, her knowledge to the area was first rate, and the food very different for us. Three different cultures food, traditional Malay, Chinese, and Indian, they were at places where certainly white people would not venture so was very exciting. Plaree then took us into the city for a wonderful tour plus photos, wonderful experience .
Great hostess , treated to a great night with a special hostess that made the night the highlight of our stay, thanks.
Over the year I have done a lot of different trips all over the world! This was one of the best!
Absolutely fantastic. Our guide (Piaree ) was great. Picked up from the railways station on time. Taken in her car to some fantastic restaurants and ate such magnificent food. She was more like a friend than a guide. Just wonderful. The food was the best food I have ever tasted. Loved the follow up email where she described the food we ate and the fantastic photos. Do yourself a favour. Go on this trip. We will again when we are next in KL.
Excellent tour! Farah was a great tour guide and contacted me beforehand to give directions on how to get to the meeting point. The food was yummy and the company was excellent.
Very intresting and good food. Great guide. I can highly recommend this tour.
c ertainly entertaining and worth while to partake.
Really some new dinig experience
The best tip for any tourist is to get to know the locals. You can’t substitute a good conversation with any tourist brochure, nor can you say you’ve fully experienced Malaysia (or any country for that matter) unless you’ve gotten to know its people. Having a local food guide will make your food adventure a whole lot easier and possibly more enjoyable as well.
We get to peek into the deliciousness that is Malaysia’s multiculturalism, and witness the greatest pork-soup fired cover of We Are the World ever. Seriously. Ever.
Jacintha was a delightful tour group leader who was very personable and accomodating. She was very knowledgable about the food and the environs of the cafes/restaurants. The food offered was delicious and showed the wide diversity of cultures that make up Malaysia.
Excellent way to take away your fears of trying different foods. Lots of variety and all of the Malay cultures included. Great guide (Charles) who gave us plenty of time to enjoy the delights of the different cuisines we were presented with. Highly recommend on your first trip to Malaysia.
