Next, continue driving through a tropical rainforest and arrive at the Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary (also known as the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary). This elephant conservation center rescues Asian elephants from areas where their habitats have been destroyed by urbanization and brings them to the sanctuary, where they’re placed in an expertly constructed natural environment and nurtured back to health before being released back into the wild.
On your tour of the center, you’ll learn all about these ambitious rehabilitation efforts and discover the importance of habitat and environmental preservation. Witness the daily activities of these beautiful animals, including watching the specially trained and committed team of wildlife experts feed them. You'll surely enjoy this amazing and insightful wildlife experience.
At midday, enjoy lunch either packed for you or at a local restaurant. After your tour, you'll be taken back to your hotel with many memories and photos to share.
The tour was superb! The tour guide was so full of knowledge and very friendly!
Great day, lots to do well worth the money!
This tour was amazing!
Great tour. Don't forget your swimmers!!! Thoroughly enjoyed tour and would recommend.
We had a nice guide which made a big difference as we had had some bad experiences on other trips. This guide actually stayed during our meal and ate with us, he also included drinks, whereas on all other trips the guide tells you to buy your own,. He also provided different fruits for us to try and we felt he was interested and eager to make the trip enjoyable for us. He was attentive and gave good and interesting commentary throughout the trip. The elephants were fun, we did not know from details on viator site that it included bathing with the elephants so had not brought a towel or change of clothes. However, guide really helpfu,l supplied paper towels and in heat quickly dried off. One of the better KL trips and very educational-great trip for kids!
Fabulous trip - excellent guide. Interesting to see the countryside. Elephants were enchanting though getting in the river with them would surely be a brave and dubious thing to do. Great experience
Worth the trip, although is a long drive there. Thanks Reno
This is an all day trip which was stated although quite a lot of time is spent travelling on the coach. Not an issue for us although worth a mention as maybe a consideration for others.
Stopped off after about an hour to see the 'aboriginal settlement'. Not at at all what we expected - it was a tiny town with not a lot to see. Although there may have been useful information about it but the guide just left us to look around for an hour or so. Bit disappointing as seemed a wasted opportunity to find out more about local Malaysian life. Guide also tried to suggest we had lunch here which did not go down well as it was only about 10.30am! However we did get to try to the local delicacy of durian fruit which was an experience!!!!!
Then drove to elephant sanctuary which was amazing! Watched a short documentary about the sanctuary and then had lunch which was fine. Saw lots of beautiful elephants and had the opportunity to bathe baby elephants. The elephant keepers were fantastic and although they do this everyday, made it feel like it was special to visitors and were happy to take photos for people. We must have missed it in the event info but we didn't realise that this was definitely included so didn't bring a change of clothes or a towel. Not a problem for my husband who had quick drying shorts and sandals, but I had walking boots and thicker trousers so didn't go in and bathe the elephants. Watching it was still beautiful though as the baby elephants looked like they were having so much fun!
Rated only four stars because the first part of the tour wasn't great and the guide could have been more informative we did several tours in Malaysia and the other guides were all better than excellent. However, I would give 10 stars if I could for the elephant sanctuary!
Great tour, did not understand guide sometimes but he was very helpful. We toured a small pewter factory but did not stop at the other places mentioned. It was good to see the elephants not having to perform and bathing the babies was great fun!!
This tour was amazing!
