Was fantastic....our guide Mickey was very knowledgable and fun...We learnt so much from this trip.Would recommend this to everybody.Loved it..
The tour was wonderful. The pick up was as scdeduled and the sites were great. However, there were too many sites to visit in such a short span of time. The y could have eliminated one place to allow us to spend a little more time at each of the remaining sites. The lunch was great, the tour director were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Saw more then we could see by ourselves in one day. Lunch was good, and guide was able to move us along, yet enjoy our beautiful temples, shrines, and gardens.
Very good tour. Recommended it to everyone visiting Kyoto. However, be prepared to be a very long day and very tired by the end of it. The lunch was very good in a nice restaurant. The tour guides are excellent and speak very good English.
A marvellous introduction to Kyoto.A great guide . everything was as I expected. only better!!
Very well organized: we have seen a lot of places in just one day but without rush. Very good guides, friendly. Good selection of places
Great tour, supported by great tour guides! It gave us a broader insight to Japan's culture and the city's rich historical heritage. In particular, we've found our tour guides storytelling very informative and compelling. Lunch was OK, albeit nothing memorable.
This was an excellent tour. Kyoto is a quaint city in some respects but unless you are prepared to really study the history and spend some serious time walking and taking the metro, you won't see these sites with this much information and this efficiently. The guide was excellent. All of the stops were extremely interesting and the guide explained all of the history. The time allotment was good. We traveled with kids (7 and 14) and they were interested in everything. Beware that if you have those who cannot climb a lot of stairs or walk an incline at the last stop, Kiyomizu Temple, they may have to wait at the bottom. It is an inclined road, leading to a lot of stairs with a very large and interesting complex at the top. The view is incredible and the site very interesting so don't skip it if you can handle the stairs. There is great shopping on the small streets below if you want to leave the tour there and make your way back to your hotel on your own. The last stop is right next to the Gion District. Our hotel was there so we shopped, tested sake, ate green tea ice cream and slowly walked back to our hotel. All other stops were fine for those with moderate walking ability.
Kyoto is a wonderful place with many interesting sites. The Golden Pavilion is spectacular. All sites are well worth visiting. The tour guides were very nice, professional and knowledgeable.
Great tour guides and destinations. Convenient pick up and drop off locations. Very informative and the provided lunch was great. Highly recommended.
This tour was great! We saw 6 temples in total and they were beautiful. We also got to see a lot of Kyoto on the way to each temple. Our two tour guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and great to have showing us around. All in all a great day!
Great tour, totally worth the money. One thing only - it gets a little tiring by the end of the day, but it is worth it.
Excellent tour and knowledgeable guides. If you want to see some of the most famous sights in Kyoto in an efficient and stress free way, then this is the tour to go on!
Friendly tour guide, it was great to find out all the information about each location from an expert!
This was our third Viator tour on this trip. We were picked up in Kyoto at the hotel we stayed at (New Miyako); again, very convenient. Our tour guide, Yoshi, was the best of the trip...very knowledegable and funny. Niho Castle was the highlight of the tour and it worth the trip--awesome. Heian Shrine was next and was a very spiritual place, again, worth the visit. From there, we visited the Golden Pavilion and got some great pics and good luck charms. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant (part of the tour) and had a great traditional lunch, shabu-shabu style. After this, we got back on the bus but were again plagued by the bus' inadequate AC, as it got hot and humid outside. The entire tour group resorted to opening the windows and braving the stickiness rather than the oven it had become inside. Our next stop was the imperial palace replica. It was immense and provided stunning pics and memories. Kiyomizu temple was out last stop. The shopping on the road up to the temple was another major attraction, here. At the conclusion of the tour, we were returned to our hotel at approx. 5pm, so we still had time to walk around Kyoto! Don't miss this one--imo its a good investment in time and money for what you get--experience this important area's major sites, explained by an expert, eat great local food, excellent shopping opportunities, and convenient pickup/drop-off. We'll do this one again, someday.
Probably our favorite tour of our trip. Saw a heap of fantastic scenes from around Kyoto with a really well informed guides. The swcond half of the day we had to practically take at a run but that was only because there is so much crammed into the day. Definitely worth it if you have a spare day.
Good customer service (matched lowest available price) as well as knowledgeable tour guides and good selection of sites.
I really enjoyed the tour of Kyoto. The tour guides were infomative and covered all the highlights of Kyoto. On the whole I had fantastic time especially because the one day tour was compact for the limited time I had in Kyoto. Please thank tour guide Izumi. P.S. Lunch at the restaurant great too..
This is great for the highlights of Kyoto. Our afternoon tour guide (male) was amazing.
I felt bad for the tour guides because the day was hot and this makes for sleepy, slightly cranky tourists. But they did a great job. Very informTive, patient and professional . I particularly liked that a ten minute grace period the bus left rather than wait for inconsiderate participants.
