Long but very enjoyable day, this was our second trip to the Canyon and Hoover dam, still blown away away by seeing the canyon. The day was well organised and our driver was very considerate, funny and we learnt so much about the area we were travelling to as well as Las Vegas. I have visited Las Vegas five times and learned more about the ins and outs of Vegas in one day from our driver( it was his last day before retiring, he will be missed). The interesting facts and history of Vegas and Nevada were worth the trip alone. Coach was very comfortable and the meal stops were adequate, McDonalds in Kingman AZ had us in and out in no time for such a large group. Tour operator provided good clear details of the day, confirmation and reminder calls to travellers were great. Staff all very friendly and most helpful. Take a jacket (even in summer) it can get cool on the coach when travelling
The Hoover Dam - GrandCanyon Bus Tour was fantastic. Only downside was not enough time to actually visit, do the IMAX and, and eat lunch at the National Geographic, or dinner on the return. Driver was various courteous and experienced. Thank you for a "grand" experience.
We took the Grand Canyon South Rim Bus Tour with Helicopter Option.
It was the most exhilarating experience ever. I would strongly recommend the helicopter option, as you really do see far more of the Canyon than just going to the south rim. A very long day in the bus but very much worth every cent.
Thumbs up!!!!! One of the best experiences ever! Very friendly and accommodating guide, very comfortable ride! It was indeed great! Memorable adventure!
A long day (the south rim is much further than the West rim tour) but so worth the trip, as once you get to the Canyon the views are amazing! On the way to the Canyon, there's a quick stop at Hoover Dam, so get your camera ready. If you purchase the helicopter experience, you'll be dropped off first, while the rest of the bus head to the National Geographic Centre. Some people selected the Pink Jeep experience (small group tours of the Canyon), or select the IMAX movie (30 min). Skip the IMAX movie if you want more time to walk around the National Geographic Centre or to relax and enjoy your lunch. (You get a lunch voucher). There will always be a lot of other bus tours, so be prepared to take a lot of quick shots then move on to the next viewing platform. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, it's warm but can get cold on the bus ride back to Las Vegas. Enjoy this amazing natural wonder!
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the South Rim. It was a long day but Geoff, the driver and tour guide was excellent and it didn't feel like such a long way. He was full of information and had a great sense of humour. The tour office was efficient and the process went smoothly to get us all on the appropriate bus. The coffee was good too! The Imax movie was great (hang on to your seats!) and the Grand Canyon spectacular. The double decker bus was also comfortable. The only negative was the passengers who didn't adhere to the time frames and held us up, which meant our stops had to be shorter to make up time. Overall we had a relaxing and pleasant day with good memories and lots of photos. Our first time in the US and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
This was a very good trip and cheaper than many other similar ones. We rang the local tour operator upon our arrival in Vegas to arrange the pick up time from our hotel. No issues, trip ran smoothly.
Long day but one of the 'must do's' whilst visiting Vegas. Note to self, if you are just visiting at the top of the Canyon as we did with this trip, take warm clothing! We visited in April and it was cold at the top with a little but of snow which had fallen the day before! Thouroughly enjoyable trip :)
It was a long day, but the bus was very comfortable and the driver is very funny, the only down side was that lunch was not as anticipated. still, worth the money. will highly recommend it
I did the tour with the heli trip. The highlights of the tour were the view of Hoover dam from the bus and the view of the grand canyon from the helicopter. I also did the hiking at the grandcanyon trip, but the views were not as exciting as the heli trip. The best part in hiking was the Geo museum at grand canyon. They have the natural history of grand canyon. The tour operators were very professional. The schedules, fun and the mood was perfectly maintained. Kudos to them!!
Amazing views, great tour guide! It´s a long drive but definetly worthy!
It is a VERY long bus ride to the South Rim and back, but the 2 plus hours we had to there to admire the grand canyon was definitely worth it.
