Shame about the wet weather on the day, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment of this natural wonder. The pilots Ray and Matt were consummate professionals but fun as well. The flight from Vegas over the Hoover dam was quick and easy and the helicopter flight into the canyon was a real experience.
Well organised - a bonus of having to be picked up at the hotel at 5 a.m. was that it was very quiet at the Canyon and we had the place very much to ourselves and we were back by just after lunchtime to spend the rest of the day inVegas.
Awesome trip this must be the best way to see the grand canyon. Achieved three of my bucket list on one day. Flight in a cessna, flight in a helicopter and ssaw the canyon from the top and the bottom. Well organised from start to finish great pilots Tim-plane and Scott - chopper right down to the pick up bus drivers. Skywalk is a must so add it to your trip. If you are thinking that the price is a little high, think again, I'd do this trip again if only just to stand one step away from mortality on the edge of the canyon
Mother nature at its best. You simply must do this trip. Well done to all to the local tour companies. you guys rock and make peoples dreams come true.
Unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience. Staff, view, everythjng was a dream.
This Tour was Everything And even more..this experience definitely exceeded my expectations!
It was great, we were there before all other tourists and can enjoy the great tour!
We took the early tour on 17 March 2016, we were picked up at 5.45am and it was well worth the early start. Everything went like clockwork, the pickup, the flight to the Grand Canyon, the helicopter ride. All the staff were polite and helpful and made you feel relaxed. We've never been in a helicopter before. It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Megan, the pilot of the plane made you feel relaxed, and the helicopter pilot, sorry we forgot his name was brilliant too. They both helped with taking photo's and advising the best shots. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Maverick as a company were brilliant. If you're thinking of doing it, go Maverick. Thankyou for an experience we will never forget. Anna and Dave
OMG... this was the highlight of our trip.Connor was excellant, very smooth ride
would highly reccommend
Absolutely amazing tour, would recommend this to anyone, its a much better way to get to the Grand Canyon and means you are walking around with only a few people rather than crowds of people. The little planes can be quite bumpy.
Fantastic, this was a fabulous tour! Expensive because of the additional helicopter trip and skywalk, but worth every penny! Great views from both the plane and helicopter and our guides were very helpful and informative. My 2 teenagers and I loved this trip!
I had a great time on this tour to the West Rim and the Skywalk. I did a lot of surfing on the internet about the Skywalk, so I knew the limitations and wasn't too concerned about the cost or not being able to take my own photos on the Skywalk.
I arranged to get picked up at the Excalibur Hotel at 6:45am, and the bus was there on time. I had scheduled the 8:00am flight because I wanted to get on the Skywalk before the mass of humanity beat me to it. The flight to the West Rim was smooth and I got to sit next to the pilot, which was really cool. The plane ride was real smooth, and the pilot was very good on keeping us all entertained during the flight to the canyon.
After landing, the pilot gave us the us all the scoop on how to ride the bus that makes the loop between Hualapai Ranch, Eagle Point and Guano Point. I decided to skip the ranch, since I know what a goat and mule look like and went directly to the Skywalk.
Since you cannot take any hard objects on to the Skywalk surface, I checked my keys, cellphone and camera into a locker that they provided. I put on a pair of paper booties to protect the surface from scratches and then went out through a door to the Skywalk. Once out the door, you are over the canyon and the view was just too much. The first tendency is to walk on the edges, where you can see the metal supports. After a minute or so, I started to walk on the glass portion and that was a real rush. It is hard to describe looking down over 2,000 feet to the canyon below.
I asked one of the local photographers to take some pictures of me and I came away with 13 pictures which they e-mailed to me the same day. The cost for the pictures was 65.00, which I thought was reasonable.
I caught the bus to Guano Point, hiked to the point and back and took a ton of pictures. This is a real cool vantage point, as you can see a lot of the canyon from this one spot.
Fantastic tour. Very well managed by the helicopter company ..pilots were top class...perfect tour. We did not do the skywalk since you get to see most of the canyon through the airplane and helicopter. Can be avoided. Meal at guano point was very good as well. Ideal tour for half a day. Highly recommended!!
Excellent experience well worth doing, the views are amazing! Very well put together professional setup, the pilots were informative and good fun! if your going to Vegas you've got to go to the grand canyon. Really enjoyable day out. Thanks to everyone involved for making it a great day out.
Amazing views from the 30 minute flight to the canyon. The pilot made us feel safe and comfortable whilst on board. The sky walk is good but has 3 photographers taking pictures which does make you feel like spending less time on the skywalk. the views of the canyon were amazing. The food provided was lovely.
This is truly amazing!!!! Needs 10 stars rather than 5!!!
Go at 6am in the morning as it was too hot at 10am in the Canyon.
Awesome trip, was expensive put worth every dollar. Was well looked after throughout the trip. We choose the early trip and wasn't that busy. Loved the whole experience, from the plane, skywalk and helicopter.
Picked up from outside our Hotel as arranged. Transported to Airport without any fuss. Booked in by the tour staff no problems very efficient. Welcomed and briefed by our Pilot 'Ron' and escorted to our aircraft. Flew over Hoover dam on way to Grand Canyon given running commentary by Ron on what to look out for and points of interest. Landed at the Grand Canyon airfield and was instructed on the tour and how to use bus system and where to get Lunch that is provided on tour. Ist stop was the cowboy ranch, not a lot to see but staff there were very enthusiastic and very happy to have photo's taken. We stopped here for our Lunch, there was three choices one of which was vegetarian and dessert was cake, and a drink was also provided. We then went to the 'Sky Walk' area of the Grand Canyon. We didn't go on the sky walk but I did read the 'Rules' of the Sky Walk' one of which was that you are not allowed to take photo's, which to my way of thinking is why you would want to go on the thing in the first place. The third stop was a brilliant place to take photo's especially if you go all the way to the end of the peninsula that protrudes out into the Canyon you can get a 360 degrees view. Ron, our pilot. was fantastic. Highly recommend this trip. Great value for money.
