Hummer trip was fun but Las Vegas was too hot for us!

First off, you'll be given an H3 unless you upgrade to an H2. The best thing about this tour is that you can go at your own pace and stop when and where you want to. If you get back early, be sure to keep the Hummer for the full twenty four hours and drive yourself around.

You are not tied to a group, you can sightsee at your own pace and you can also visit Hoover Dam on your way to or from the Grand Canyon as we did. It was like car hire but only with so many extras included. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Having the hummer for 24 hours meant that after our trip we could use it to go visit Fremont street and/or other hotels not in walking distance. Coming from the UK it is likely that I will never get to drive a hummer on a dirt road. It was a fantastic experience and lots of fun especially when you pass normal cars trying to work their way on the dirt roads. 5 stars for total service.

We booked the Hummer after seeing it advertised on the net, and to be honest we were a bit nervous about booking it off our own back. But I will say that once we met up with the Hummer, we were totally at ease. The sat nav was perfect, and we had emergency numbers and water. Everything was very helpful and clear. I loved the driving, maybe a little too much as I was stopped for speeding, so be careful. What I will say is that as we were only in Vegas for a few days, we tried to rush the Grand Canyon trip. We booked to do the Skywalk at the West Rim and were only there for half an hour as we had booked up stuff in Vegas that evening. In all, we left Vegas at 11am--way too late--stopped at the Hoover Dam and then went on to the canyon and were back back for 7pm. You need to leave a lot earlier to experience all the sights that you can see on this trip. All in all, if you love driving you will love this.

The HUMMER was real fun to drive. It's the way to go especially because there are about 6 miles of winding dirt road. Make sure you specify you want an H2 when you book. Grand Canyon is OK. Never been but it's basically just a huge hole in the ground. But the U Drive Tour was the way to go, you don't have to wait for a bus or other tourists. 4 stars for the H2 and 3 stars for the Grand Canyon.

Just wanted to say it was all great, excellent service etc and we would thoroughly recommend. Only downside as far as we were concerned was that we were not provided with any map/details for the return journey. Got lost in Vegas as we couldn't turn right on to Paradise where we needed to return the hummer too. Took us 2 hours to find it. Not good after a very long day.

It can be tricky, but all the cars have GPS which is set for you and you can switch it to reverse direction for the trip back to Las Vegas. We will follow up with our operator and make sure that all customers are notified so that they can find their way back to Las Vegas more quickly.

We very much enjoyed our day off from Vegas and our drive to the West Rim. The hummer worked perfect and the two and a half hour drive to the Skywalk walk was actually a lot of fun. We spent about 3-4 hours visiting the area and had a great time.

The hummer drive and view from the Grand Canyon was awesome. However, the lunch, Native American village and ranch left much to be desired. Still, it was a good value for the money.

The Hummer was cool to drive. It had a GPS navigation system, which was great for finding our way, especially on our way back to Las Vegas. We stopped at the Hoover Dam before we went to the Grand Canyon and enjoyed a one-and-a-half-hour guided tour there. The Skywalk itself is fantastic, and the experience of looking straight into the canyon is unbelievable - the only drawback is the disorganised distribution of tickets by the Hualapai tribe, which definitely needs improving. Although we had a prepaid voucher from our tour operator, it took almost 45 minutes to get the passes for the west rim bus tour and the lunch vouchers. The food at the lunch buffet at Guano Point was awful, and the tables were dirty and sticky - and please don't try to use the restrooms. Despite all that, the landscape is awesome and the views are spectacular.

Great day out. Skywalk was breathtaking and BBQ lunch overlooking the Canyon was a perfect setting. Hummer was perfect for journey as the final access road is unmade and very bumpy. Hummer made light work of it.

We had bad weather, so the helicopter part and the pontoon boat ride were canceled. Not your fault but fault of mother nature. That was the bummer, however, even though bad weather everything else was fine. I think next time we will do the helicopter tour instead of driving.

Would highly recommend the Skywalk at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. You can get some great pictures taken!

Quite a long drive to to West Rim, Hummer was OK, but you are better off hiring a normal 4x4. The view at the Grand Canyon is worth the long trip.

Make sure you understand what you are getting. There is a big difference between an H1, H2 and H3 Hummer! You will get the H3 - this isn't the 6.6 litre diesel H1 that the military uses nor the 6 litre petrol H2. I think its a 3.7 litre and in something this heavy is fairly bland to drive. Also, they don't all have GPS as advertised. If you are a later pickup, you will end up with one without GPS! The instructions out are fine, but there are no return instructions. Reversing them doesn't work because you pick up on a one way street - and driving a Hummer back through the busy streets of south central Las Vegas is a nightmare! If you are without GPS and are not familiar with the streets and highways of Las Vegas, do not attempt this without a good navigator in the right hand seat. The trip out was pleasant, but the off-road section is not a special section. It's the one that all vehicles take to the West Rim and is only around 20 miles - you certainly don't need 4 wheel drive! The other 2-2.5 hours is on tarmac!

They gave us very poor directions. The skywalk package was not value for money and be prepared to queue. However, skywalk is definitely worth doing.
