Grand Canyon in a Day: Hummer Tour from Las Vegas

This Big Horn sightseeing tour of the Grand Canyon begins with a hotel pickup in Las Vegas. Then make the 4.5-hour trek east, passing through Joshua tree forests and the Mojave Desert, and past the famous Hoover Dam and beautiful Lake Mead to the Grand Canyon.

Enjoy three hours of exploring at the West Rim of the canyon, with brief hikes to the Eagle Point and Guano Point overlooks to take in the amazing views. Stay for a cowboy cookout at Guano Point or visit the Hualapai Ranch for an indoor buffet lunch.

There are several upgrades to consider on this tour. Choose one or select all three for the ultimate adventure.

Add a thrilling walk on the glass-bottomed Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass walkway nearly 4,000 feet above the floor of the canyon. Or lift off high above the canyon in a helicopter, then descend between its walls and land at the base. Walk around, get an up-close look at the many layers of the interior of the canyon and gain an even greater appreciation of the immensity of this natural wonder. Additionally, enjoy a pontoon boat ride along the Colorado River, looking up at the canyon’s many beautiful colors and stunning rock formations.

This day tour also includes a complimentary photo stop at Hoover Dam, either before or after visiting the Grand Canyon.

An absolutely brilliant day. The weather was great, picked up on time by our tour guide, the excellent Brett. Wonderful stop at the Hoover Dam and then to the Grand Canyon. Brett was very knowledgeable and he made it all so interesting. The Canyon was absolutely fantastic and we learnt so much. Well worth every cent. Jill and Sandra

Although an unusually snowy and rainy day for April, the tour was excellent. Don't be duped into taking a tour on a bus, take a tour by Hummer with a knowledgeable guide like we had!

The trip was fantastic. We were picked up promptly and our driver/guide, Scott, was a pleasure to be with. His enthusiasm and knowledge was a credit to him. The whole experience was great and to see the canyon on a still, sunny day was the icing on the cake. Truly worth the cost.

Just been on this tour, one of the best tours I have been on. Our guide Brett was very informative and made the day such a memorable one we will never forget. It was very well organised and we did the helicopter into the canyon what an experience, if you only do one tour make it this one. Thank you Big Horn Tours and Brett

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim. Our guide, Scott, was very knowledgable and worked hard to make our trip productive and efficient we got a late start due to another guest's no-show, so Scott rearranged the order of our stops to help avoid the crowds. It was great having a personal tour guide, as we learned a lot about the area and always had answers to our questions. Highly recommend the helicopter to the bottom of the canyon--it was amazing. Such a wonderful experience for our whole family!

Took the tour back in January and completely forgot to review it - sorry Scott! We were in town for a few days from London, England as part of our honeymoon and particularly liked the idea of being picked up directly from our hotel and heading straight out to the Canyon at a respectable time. With some other tour companies you get picked up, bused to a terminal on the outskirts of Vegas, wait for everyone to arrive from all the hotels and then go on to the Canyon in a large bus, all of which could take an additional couple of hours! Scott our Guide, was very knowledgeable and professional throughout the day. We shared the hummer with 2 ladies from Australia, there was plenty of water and snacks on board - probably more essential when it's hotter but good to know in case the hummer broke down! We were very fortunate as the sun shone all day long. We stopped at the Hoover Dam for about 20 minutes to take photos which was a great bonus and then travelled up to the Canyon with a comfort stop on route. We had approximately 4 hours to walk round the 2 viewing points. The Canyon was simply stunning. We didn't pay extra to go on skywalk - really don't think it's worth it providing you are agile enough to climb up a couple of fairly gentle hills and rocks. The tour included lunch, a couple of hot choices, salad and drink. Our companions hadn't pre-booked a helicopter ride but Scott was able to sort that out for them on arrival. On the way back we went off road to explore the Joshua Tree Forest which was very interesting. Overall a great tour, although a little more expensive than some others definitely worth every cent!
