Your Western adventure begins with a cowboy guided horseback ride through a historic working cattle ranch. Just after leaving the Ranch Headquarters you’ll pass by a herd of small buffalo, the only wild herd of these iconic Western animals in this area. Continue riding through the Joshua tree-lined Mormon trail, through Barks Canyon and into Iron Basin known as the Music Mountains of Arizona. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Spirit Mountain as you climb into the vastness of the open range. The total horseback ride is approximately 3 hours.
Once you’re back at the Grand Canyon Ranch headquarters the wranglers will show you the corrals and talk about ranching techniques. Then, at sunset you will head over to the campout location for dinner. Chow down on home-cooked Western cuisine while you relax by a campfire in the company a cowboy balladeer singing under a canopy of stars and reliving the history and stories of the outlaws from the Old Wild West.
The next morning just after sunrise and a freshly made cup of cowboy coffee, it’s time to take an approximately 1-hour horseback ride to the Ranch House for a hearty breakfast, where your tour concludes.
