The overall experience with Viator was fascinating. I will be recommending this to all my colleagues.
It was out first time to Peru. We wanted to make sure we had a great experience all around. Viator/Viajes Pacifico did a great job making us feel welcomed, safe, at ease, and informed. The tours were very well selected and executed. We had an twelve year old son and 10 year old daughter that did well with the tour.
This was a great tour made extra special by the tour company making you feel extra special with a lovely cheese and wine course during the moon valley sunset and a great breakfast at el tatio after the sunrise at the geysers. Would thoroughly recommend.
Excellent itinerary! For a single traveller who speaks minimal Spanish, this was the perfect week for me! I highly recommend booking the flight from Lima to Cusco early in the morning, and return as late as possible on the last day in Cusco. Maximize your time, and go see more of the sacred valley.
Each guide in each location was amazing! So passionate about their cities and their history. Many times there was just the two of us and guide, never more than 7. Prompt, courteous, full of information. Accommodations were perfect. I will use Viator again wherever I go! Recommend highly!
Loved the tour. As a solo traveler from another continent I was a bit cautious as I heard stories. But all the drivers/tour guides were very helpful and safe to be around. Very friendly staff and always on time - I got a standard room selection and they gave me a Superior room in Machu Picchu city with a balcony facing the flowing river. That was amazing! My hotel in Cusco was nice but far from the main Plaza. I took a safe for only 4 sols=approx. $1.72 CDN in Cusco not bad!! and it was safe. Lima was interesting too very awesome too!!!
We could not be happier to have booked our Peru tour with viator. Every step of the way the drivers and guides were friendly, knowledgable, helpful and professional. the schedule also have us a balance of guided time and free time which we enjoyed.
We are very happy with the tour operators Viator and the tour company. We highly recommend them. Due to our long international flights from/to Singapore we had to make several changes to our pick-up and drop-off times and locations. They were very responsive and accommodated all our changes without issues.
This is our first time to Peru and we don't speak any Spanish. Everything went smoothly all the guides and customer help line speak English well. We added some additional tours to our itinerary and all the guides are very knowledgeable and informative.
In this business, the people makes the difference and we really felt it. During our Cusco half day tour even though everything on the itinerary was covered, we felt it was a bit rushed and the tour finished ahead of schedule. We were asked for feedback by phone from one of the customer helpline and the message was conveyed to the tour guide, Jose Aguilar. To our pleasant and unexpected surprise, Jose seek us out during our next tour and personally apologized to us. He offered to take us on a cultural experience on his own time during the evening. We accepted because he was very sincere and we really to learn more about the Peruvian culture. That evening was wonderful and we had an experience that most tourist would not have. Jose took us to a local places: a view of the night lighted city of Cusco, drinks at a bar with a view of the city, a Chicharia for corn beer, a Picanteria for local food, and finally picarones for dessert. We are very well travelled and adventurous types so it was wonderful for us. We told Jose that they should consider making this another cultural tour.
To finish this review, we had Jose again as our guide on a tour of the scared valley and he was wonderful. Join the tour!
As a solo traveler, it was important that all expected services would be provided without any hitch- and Viator , through its partner, Viajes Pacifico , delivered superbly. To start with, airport transfer was there waiting for me and from then on everything worked out well. The hotels were excellent, in terms of location, comfort and services. I chose the economy option and yet my rooms were not economy at all, for instance my room in Cuzco was a suite, complete with loft bedroom and jacuzzi. Tour guides, were relaxed and yet professional.
I loved this trip and will certainly consider viator on my next vacation.
Staff were extremely professional, courteous and very punctual. I will be sure to recommend your tour to my friends. Thank you for a most amazing time in Peru.
The tour operator was great. They do all the legwork and planning. All you have to do is show up. There was enough time at each location for them to take us around and show us the "must-see" sites, and enough time for us to do our own thing. Note: Viator will take forever in getting back to you if you have any questions, so I'd suggest just contacting the tour company directly.
What a great way to travel. You set up all the hotels and transportation and we sit back and enjoy! Loved meeting all the knowledgeable guides. The group sizes varied, but never more that 4 others. They set the wake up calls!!! Would do it again tomorrow!
The B..e..s..t!!! I already recommended this tour to my friends. The tourist guides/driver are all knowledgeable, courteous and on time. On the 1st day, we didn't go to San Francisco Church and Barranco (outside Lima). Not enough time, I guess! But, today was very touching when Ursula (guide) and I went to visit the room in Sto. Domingo Church where St. Martin de Porres healed the sick people. I felt he was there and I can't stop crying. I was blessed! 2nd day was free so I joined the Temple of Pachacamac trip. On the way, we stopped in Barranco suburb. 3rd day, we didn't go to the Cathedral of Cusco. I wish, we didn't spend too much time in the market. The rest of the itinerary was ok.
This tour was absolutely worth my time and money! It was safe and I was well informed about all transportation and tours ahead of time. There was also plenty of leisure time to book other tours and/or entertainment. The hotels were satisfying with a breakfast that all can choose from. What made the trip was the people, culture, food, history, and of course spending the night in Aguas Calientes to experience Machu Picchu at sunrise! What an experience for my timeline! See for yourself...
From the first meeting at Lima airport through to the final parting at Lima airport we were very well looked after. At all stages of the trip we were escorted by knowledgeable and friendly representatives and all meetings, collections and appointments were on time - even at 04.50 in the morning! The trip was absorbing and interesting and I felt we had a good overview of the Incas and the territory. Perhaps the first day of free-time in Lima could have been more fully utilised but it's a small point. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. Thank you.!
An enjoyable tour, hotels were good and staff were friendly and helpful, nice touch to have coca tea always readily available, seemed to prevent altitude sickness a lot to see in Lima and Cusco the guides all spoke good English, the lady on the city tour in Cusco was a bit over - verbose and repetitive perhaps she was trying to fill up the time, while in contrast the guide on the archeological tour near Cusco was better by being more concise. Train journey to MP was spectacular and Machu Pichu itself fascinating and awe- inspiring, with a lovely buffet lunch including local foods at the end.
tour was very good, timely everything ,no miss or trouble anywhere, enjoyed it was more than expected ,some hotel location was poor, may be two star hotels, for that reason tour price is too high
Overall, a great experience. Peru is "more than meets expectations" type of country.
However, in Cuzco, Viator must change the hotel location- tooooo far out of the beautiful downtown!! Ugh!!
The people of Peru were charming and friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. The pristine cleanliness and available services on the modern train to Cusco were surprising! I thought that the beauty of Machu Picchu would be the highlight of the trip, but the art and architecture of Cusco and Lima were just as awe inspiring. The holdings in the cathedrals of Cusco were comparable to some of the finest museums in the world. I only wish I had stayed longer in Cusco and had more time to explore the markets and shop for the beautiful hand made artifacts that were displayed throughout the city. The reproduction paintings of saints and religious figures and hand carved frames were outstanding. I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in adventure, history, and the arts.
Viajes Pacifico did an excellent job. I was 100 % escorted during my trip with messages at the hotel everyday of my next day's activities and time of pick up.
I had a few doubts about my trip, specifically the plane trip from Lima to Cusco. It was stated that the price of this trip was not included, but did not say I had to make my own arrangements. Messages to Viator were in vain, I only got messages that they received my enquiry and someone would answer me, which they never did.
Only after I called Viajes Pacifico directly to their Lima office my doubts were cleared. I only had three days before my trip to get a reservation for Lima-Cusco-Lima.
Another thing is that nobody told me it was winter down there.
Being from a tropical country, I expected it to be warm, so I only packed my shorts and t-shirts. I almost froze there.
Peru is a beautiful country and people are very sympathetic. Food is out of this world.
If I ever go again, I will deal with Viajes Pacifico directly
The hotels were not as good as I had expected. The Lima hotel did not hace air conditioning, and the temperature was 86 degrees fahrenheit. The Cusco hotel was located on the edge of town. The hotel in Aguas Caliente was very good, and the tour of Machu Piccu was fine. All other aspects of the tour were pretty good, although the Lima tour was short. I would recommend that people taking this tour spring for the better hotel package. And when in Cusco, stay near the central square.
the tour guides were great and all went on time. Was concerned when at times our name was not on the board for airport pick up. They also took our schedule and stated that would be returned and that did not happen. We used an internet to obtain us a copy. We have used your company before and going to again in Apr. The guides are great. Thanks for a great experence. Pat the wife of Jim
