One of our trip highlights. It was very nice to see a Moorish castle in such privacy. The two wineries were very nice yet very different. The wine was great, had to bring some home! The trip along the coast to Sesimbra was very beautiful, we really enjoyed the views. Had a new perspective of Lisbon from across the river. Great tour guide, John, made the trip that much more entertaining and memorable.
Great tour. We stopped at two wine vinyards; many wines to taste. We stopped at a local fish restaurant for lunch. Excellent. Lunch was not included, but it was offered and recommended. My four teenagers were with me and had a great day as well.
Brilliant tour- best day of the holiday. Guide was amazing, really enthusiastic, well informed and clearly loved his area. Really good value for money too.
Covered a lot of territory and received a lot of great information. Some truly breathtaking views along the drive. Sesimbra is a cute cute town.
My friend and I spent a wonderful day visiting Arrabida and Sesimbra. Since we were the only ones signed up for this particular tour, it ended up being a private tour with just the two of us. Our guide Hugo was very knowledgeable, professional and had a great sense of humor. We will recommend Viator to other travelers.
My wife and I thought this was one of the best tours we have ever been on. It was a small group which was great. Our tour guide was awesome, he was very knowledgable and made this a very relaxing day for us. From the sights and the lunch stop you must take this tour!
Loved this tour. Spent the day learning a lot about the history of wine within the nation and Sesimbra was the most beautiful place I had seen in a long time
Because of the low season we were the only two tourists for this tour that day, but it didn't make it less exciting! Lots of great sightseeing, history and of course vine!
This was an amazing tour! Our tour guide, Augusta, was very knowledgeable and friendly. In spite of the day starting off with not the best weather, the beauty of the Arrabida National Park and the views of Portugal's coast line were breathtaking. We visited a small family owner winery called Quinta de Alcube, and tasted some of the best wine we have ever had. A couple of bottles of their wine made it back home. A highlight of the tour was our lunch stop in the fishing village of Sesimbra. This is a place we will want to stay at for several days on our next trip to Portugal. After lunch we visited a second winery called Casa Museu Jose Maria da Fonseca. The history of this winery was very interesting but we were not fans of their wine. Our only recommendation for this tour would be to replace this winery tour with another smaller winery such as Quinta de Alcube. We stopped at the Cristo Rei Sanctuary on our return to Lisbon where the views of the Vasco da Gama Bridge and the city of Lisbon were amazing. We took this tour on our last full day in Portugal after a two week vacation travelling throughout the country. We could not have been happier and this day was definitely one of the highlights of our two weeks in Portugal.
This was a great day trip and one that I would highly recommend if you enjoy wine and the ocean. I felt that it was a solid value for all that I got to see and do.
I could not have been more pleased with this tour. I took this tour in early November and at each site we visited we were the only tourists present. John was knowledgeable of the region and a true advocate for his country. My only suggestion would be to add a second winery visit to the itinerary.
A lovely day, a visit with a mix of different activities, from vibrant markets to hidden gems of the Portuguese heritage.
This tour was a great way to discover a part of Portugal which is a bit hidden to tourists, and it's more for locals. I really enjoyed seeing the nature through Arrabida's Natural Park, and the couple of stops we did at 3 beaches. One was surrounded by amazing cliffs and the other one in Sesimbra, a charming village where we had amazing grilled sardines at a local restaurant. Great views all along the trip! I also really enjoyed the visit to a winery and the wine tasting, very well worth it!
Portugal is a jewelry! And be aware...I'm talking about Portugal, not only about Lisbon. Go for it!
