Recommend this for total transport flexibility in and around Lisbon. One single ticket - no fuss and stress-free. Recommend also using the discount vouchers offered with this pass. Go Lisbon!
Well worth acquiring. Got mine by exchanging voucher at airport where you can't miss the tourist desk being opposite where you come out. Took a matter of minutes and taxi waited for me. Used mainly for transport purposes but also gave a discount at the well worth visiting zoo.
Picked it up at airport. Right next to where you arrive after customs.
Good for all buses, trams, and tolleys. Also free admission to many local musuems.
Buy it for 48 hours.
Worth to purchase for free and easy traveller which includes entrance to several important attractions in the city plus free transport within the city and train rides to Sintra and Cascais.
The Lisboa Card was very good for the transit system, but we had difficulty using it on the Hop on Hop off tourist bus. This was not the fault of the card, but rather that the Hop on Hop off bus stops were not clearly marked and we missed the bus by being at the wrong location. Otherwise the card was excellent.
The Lisboa Card was very useful for the transit system, except for the fact that the system was shut down by a general strike on one of the three days. Also, our friend who also purchased a three day pass was unable to use it. We think that the agent at the Lisbon Information Booth at the airport did not correctly activate the card. The Metro personell simply stated that there was no credit on the card. We did receive a discount on a harbour cruise with no problems.
Definitely worth doing! There is so much to do and see in Lisbon and surrounding area that the Lisbon Card means you will save a lot. I used it for two days. I only gave 3 stars because the Lisbon tourist info wasted my time several trips and waiting for their system to work to print the damn ticket
The Lisbon City card is useful for transportation in the city. However, I suspect that one can also purchase a transportation card for use on the subway and bus. As a senior (age 65 and above), most of the museums that provided a Lisbon City Card discount also offered a senior discount. In every case the senior discount was better than that offered by the Lisbon City Card. My advise: If you are a senior, don't bother with the Lisbon City Card.
We did not get our money's worth from the 48 hour card. Maybe we hadn't paid enough attention to which places were free and which offered a 20% discount. It is difficult to cover enough teritory to save money when you are getting a small discount rather than free entry. It was very convenient on the trams, trains and metro.
