What You Can Expect
Next, step aboard your sailboat and settle in as the crew makes final preparations for a comfortable sail. Depart and head to Tagus Estuary and the Park of the Nations (Parque das Nações) to see captivating modern architecture like the glass Oceanário, Europe’s largest indoor aquarium. Then, learn how the 1998 World Expo helped transform this area into a promising commercial and residential space.
Sail on for stunning views of São Vicente Monastery, St George Castle (Castelo de São Jorge), and pristine parks perched above the Tagus River. As your boat heads south, grab your camera and capture shots of the charming Alfama and Bairro Alto districts.
This day cruise from Lisbon is a perfect opportunity to see the Monument of the Discoveries, which honors Portugal’s great voyagers and the country’s role in discovering new lands in the 15th and 16th centuries. As you approach the riverfront district of Belém, see the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery.
Your 2-hour cruise concludes at Park of the Nations (Parque das Nações). Here, you can continue visiting more attractions at your leisure and own expense.
Skipper was low key, friendly, and did not feel the need to talk constantly, wish works BEST for me. There were only seven of us, and it was quite relaxing. The information that was shared helped me to appreciate the history of Portugal and Lisbon that much more. Lovely afternoon.
Although it rained a fair bit, it did not dampen our enjoyment, we just loved the river cruise and can highly recommend it
Not to be missed because seeing the city from a different perspective really increases your awareness of the place as a whole. The boat crew were all very friendly and happy to give info about what we were seeing. Only criticism was that for a long time the loudspeaker was too low and one couldn't hear the narrative.
We used the hotel pick-up option which was ideal start to the cruise. Cruise itself offers fantastic alternate views of Lisbon with plenty photo opportunities. We sat on the shaded sun deck the whole time to benefit from the sea breeze. Good commentary. Snacks available. You'll love this.
Good tour. You get a good view of Belim and the discovery tower.
Great tour, awesome to see the city and surrounds from the water. It was nice being in a smaller craft rather than the bigger boats. Great stuff!
Enjoyed the trip.
Great views and was very interesting - The tour guide was inaudible at times due to the noise and the wind.
There are lots of things one can enjoy but the trip can be improved as concerns the information people need when taking such a cruise. I had the feeling that nobody cared about the tourists on board.
Portugal is a jewelry! And be aware...I'm talking about Portugal, not only about Lisbon. Go for it!
