This tour invites you to taste a renowned wine of the Bucelas region and to explore the exuberant habits and tastes of the former Portuguese royalty.

Your journey will start heading to Mafra crossing the countryside that still today supplies Lisbon with some of its agricultural products. As you arrive to Mafra you will see instantly the Mafra Palace looming over the rooftops of the little houses. Starting with plans to a small monastery thanking God for a healthy heir, John V's extravagant wishes led to an enormous structure composed by a Royal Palace, a Monastery and a Basilica in an ensemble of more than 600 rooms, 5200 doors and windows and the largest bells carillon in the world! Walking by its enormous rooms and corridors with your guide you will realize how much history is still present on those walls and stones.

After the visit of the architectural wonder of Mafra its time to continue to Bucelas, crossing the beautiful hills and valleys of this region to the heart of the Bucelas Wine Region. After a detailed explanation about the region and the wine producing methods you will be invited to a wine tasting enjoying all the pleasures of this excellent wine.
