Get out of town and see the places locals visit when they want to escape the city! You'll visit the bustling fishing village of Sesimbra, and the breathtaking nature reserve surrounding Arrabida Mountain. On your return trip to Lisbon you will stop at the Moorish fortress Pousada do Castelo in Palmela.
Crossing the bridge over the Tagus, you will have a superb view over Lisbon.
Then your first stop is Sesimbra, a favorite town for Lisbon locals to spend a weekend getaway. You'll visit the old Castle of Sesimbra and admire the beautiful scenery of this old fishing town.
Next stop is Azeitao and a visit to a famous wine cellar to sample the local wines. You will also visit a handicraft center to admire its Azulejos (hand-made glazed tiles).
Continue on to Arrabida mountain a unique nature reserve providing breathtaking panoramic views over Setubal and Troia.
On your return to Lisbon, you will stop at Pousada do Castelo in Palmela. The castle was originally built as a Moorish fortress, and was later the headquarters and convent of the Order of Santiago.
