Well organized, extremely interesting and informative, very entertaining and well prepared guide. Great treatment with snacks and available lunch options.
Great trip! Something different a wonderful contrasting journey trough Portugal's history.
The tour was really interesting, and it was a great way to get out of the tourist top 5 things to do in Lisbon itineraries. This was specifically focused on an interesting part of Portugueses history, the castle, the monastery, the city of Tomar, and synagogue were all really interesting and great to see for different reasons. The monastery alone should be on everyone's must-see list for Portugal.
The local tour guide company were fantastic. Initially, I was the only person signed up for the tour, so they called to cancel with enough time for me to make other arrangements. Then, someone else booked the tour, and they were in contact again with enough notice to change plans. The tour guide did a great job - she knew a LOT about the Knights Templar, the history of each place, and also kept the tour flexible enough for us to stay relaxed and comfortable. To top it off, they have portable WIFI!!! As a business traveller, that was an excellent touch.
Thanks to the tour company for a great trip
Guide knew everything about the Knights Templar and shared. Castle was unbelievable with time to walk into the tower and explore. First church was truly unique and worth seeing. History buffs have to go on this tour.
This tour was great and our tour guide was amazing. The tour was offered by cooltours lisbon and I would have booked more tours with them if this would have been my first tour rather than my last. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. As well, the tour company offered free wifi in the van so we could post pictures or catch up while we were traveling between locations.
Excellent day and Andreia was great tourguide. The day was full of interesting history and beautifull places.
The tour operator guide was quite knowledgeable and provided a lot of history about these sites that I had not previously been aware of. She gave our group the freedom to decide how to spend some of our time at the various places, and her suggestions were excellent. I would do this again, given the opportunity as there is so much to see and learn.
We really enjoyed our day with your Viator guide, Michaela. She was very knowledgeable of the history of the places we visited. Our small group of 6 enjoyed having lunch with her in one of the restaurants she recommended. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of the Templar knights.
Michael and Anna
Our guide had was great and had a vast amount of historical and local knowledge and we really enjoyed the excursion. Our lunch was amazing and we so enjoyed the owner and his family. Our tour was so much more interesting and engaging than the several much larger tours we had with our cruise. We are convinced that the very small local tours are the best way to see and experience an area. We are 4 for 4 with viator!
We loved the tour. We went to some out-of-the-way places that are not included on many tours. Our guide was energetic, knowledgeable and oranized. A great experience all around.
It was a fantastic tour. Only 4 people and the tour guide and driver was magnificent. Highly recommend it.
Excellent. Very knowledgeable Tour Guide. Great food at the Medevil Restuarant.
Great tour! The guide - Miguel was outstanding. Cool Tour LX does hotel pick ups and they arrived just when scheduled. Miguel is very knowledgeable about Portugal and the Knights Templar. He gave us lots of information, but made it interesting. Portugal is beautiful and the route of this tour includes some great scenery. Highly recommended.
Excellent tour, our guide Miguel was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Portugal.
Better than expected! Educational, beautiful, historical trip. Our guide was extremely knowledgable, super friendly and very attentive to our small group. She also took us to a newly opened Templar restaurant in Tomar. It was another (of several) highlights! Within our group, there were two children who loved the entire day/adventure as well. If you travel to Lisbon, please don't miss-out.
This tour is absolutely amazing and my husband and I are so glad we did it. Anyone with any interest at all in the Knights Templar need to do this tour. Our guide from 'Cooltours' in Lisbon was fantastic as well. The 'Convent of Christ' in Tomar is spectacular - any pictures you see on the internet, do not do it justice - one must see it in person, and you will be extremely glad you did.
The Knights Templar Tour was an excellent experience. Our tour guide, Madelana, was friendly, informative, helpful, and very, very kind. My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. Would highly recommend it to everyone who visits Portugal.
Our tour guide was exceptional. Her enthusiasm and depth of knowledge made for a rich and engaging experience. Wish all our tours were this enlightening.
Loved this tour!!! You;ll start off the day by visiting a magical, medieval castle perches on a small island in the river. You don't actually go inside the castle, but you take a small bout ride all around it. Then, you're off to Constancia. This is actually a very small stop. Not much to do there. Then, Tomar to visit the Templar castle and monastery. Hige complex. Get ready to walk. It's very worth the trip!
This was a great tour overall. Our guides Edgar and Yoki were absolutely wonderful--both very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We would have requested all of our tours with them if we had been able to!
We had a small group of just 3, so it was more of private tour. Our guide, Mihaela, of Cool Tour, was very informative and knowledgable. Being a small tour we were able to get to know her as well as the others in the tour. The castles are a must see if interested in the Knights Templar.
Sorry, if this review came about late. First off, this is the most fantastic tour we have had for a family of 6 which includes a small child. It was a very amazing tour conducted by two wonderful ladies who showed us not only the best of Portugal but also the best of Portugese friendliness. She (tour guide) brought us to the most fantastic restaurant for our lunch and also brought us for a tram ride round the city of Tomar right up to the Convent. (I am positive that she paid these out of her own expense which is not part of the tour package). Believe it or not, we were the only six passengers plus of course our two guides on board the tram. This is truly the most personlised private tour we have ever had. Besides, she had assisted to help our hyper active son (7yo) by giving a very interesting explaination of the Convent with its breath taking artwork that will truly grasped the mind of any child. I truly recommend families with children for this tour. And for those elderly folks, please don't worry about having difficulties getting out from the minivan as there is a small stool too. We even had a boat ride round the Templars castle. Please asked for Cooltour ,Nicula Mihaela. Very nice lady who goes out of the way to handle even the most difficult situation and an accomodating one. A very knowledgable , approved guide.
