What You Can Expect

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace Tour Including Electric Rickshaw Ride

Visit Kensington Palace, the stately one-time home of Princess Diana

Meet your guide in Westminster, located in central London, for a stroll to Buckingham Palace. As you admire the graceful exterior of this 19th-century residence, it’s worth imagining the many monarchs, including Queen Victoria, who have lived here since 1837.

Guides aren't permitted to speak in the palace; stand near the entrance to listen to your guide share interesting facts and advice on your visit before you set off on your own. Skip the long wait lines with your pre-booked ticket, allowing more time to explore the State Rooms with an audio guide.

Queen Elizabeth II uses the lavish chambers to welcome and entertain visiting dignitaries and guests. The audio tour provides fascinating stories about the 19 public rooms that are decorated with glittering chandeliers and opulent furnishings. Highlights include the monarch’s exquisite collection of Sèvres porcelain and the Picture Gallery, which is lined with works by Titian, Rubens, and Rembrandt, among other greats.

Afterward, meet back up with your guide to take a stroll through the palace gardens and then board your electric rickshaw for a ride to nearby Kensington Palace. On the way, pass Hyde Park, purchased by King Henry VIII from the monks of Westminster Abbey in 1536. Learn how the king hunted on horseback here as you approach Kensington Palace with your guide.

Kensingston Palace is the current home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their young son Prince George. Enjoy a tour of its splendid King’s Gallery, King’s State Apartments and Queen’s State Apartments accompanied by your guide; it's a rare privilege usually not available on Kensington Palace tours. Your guide shares extensive knowledge as you walk past 17th-century paneling in the queen's dining room, impressive tapestries in the king's chambers, and the working fireplace in the King's Gallery. For fans of the British royal family, it's a treat to see the chambers and rooms that Queen Victoria, Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and the Queen Mother, among others, called home.

Your experience ends after your Kensington Palace tour, when you say goodbye to your guide outside.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended September 2014

A great experience and our tour guide, Isabel, was pleasant, knowledgeable and made the tour entertaining. The viator team was on time and arranged an easy meeting spot. The Rickshaw ride was fun, the peddlers were great. I get a little squeamish about traveling on public roads on a bike but all went well. This was good use of our time and would recommend it for anyone who wants to tour both Buckingham and Kensington. Thank you.
