Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the England in One Day: Stonehenge, Bath, the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon Day Trip from London. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Very good program, from it you could easily understand which places you want to see for longer time. For us Stonehedge and Stratford-upon-Avon were very interesting, but Bath was the best expirience! We will return there for sure! Also good guide and well-organized group!
This was probably my all time favorite! As a literature professor I was in 7th heaven!
This was a fabulous trip. I had read other rave reviews and that's what helped me decide to go on this tour. The driver and guide were a great team. We covered a lot of ground but never felt rushed. Very easy and enjoyable. We learned a lot and had fun. I'd do it again and will go on other tours. Thanks for asking.
Had a great time! I wish they would a stop in The Cotswolds instead of just a drive through....everything was fabulous...I highly reccomend it.
Very good the tour guide was great. The bus driver he was wonderful. This was my first time to London and the outside areas of London did not have a clue what to expect when tour said to explore the Roman baths I was expecting ruins but was surprised about Bath and what a great city/village it was. I would recommend this tour.
Great trip , great guide thankyou Frank for a wonderful day definitely recommend this tour
It was a splendid tour and I immensely enjoyed picturesque English countryside in a day. I hoped to spend more time at strikingly impressive city of Bath! Also a short walk at one of the beautiful villages of Cotswold. Surely we were pressed for time. John, the tour guide was hilarious and detailed every highlight of the places visited. Highly recommend this tour and would love to visit England once again!
This was a fantastic tour, with the highlights definitely being Shakespeare's birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. The players who performed for us were really amusing and made the place come alive.
Bath was a very beautiful offering its very pleasing heritage of Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone. We also really enjoyed touring the Roman baths as well.
Stonehenge, however, was the highlight of the day and a truly inspiring place to visit. Stonehenge by itself would have made taking the tour worth it.
I would strongly recommend this tour.
A great way to get an idea of places to see in England. Didn't have a lot of time at any place but it was still fun. The bus driver and the guide were wonderful. Highly recommend if you'd like to get a glimpse of the English countryside
THE MOST AMAZING TOUR I\VE DONE! It was very complete and we had this great south african/english guide who definitely knew his history! LOVED IT
Amazing trip!! Stonehenge has an unbelievable energy! Bath is a beautiful city! At Shakespeare's house a surprise was waiting us... 2 actresses played for us a scene from a sonnet! The guide was an amazing person with humor and clean accent!!
This was great. Thoroughly enjoyable. Bath is amazing, the countryside beautiful. It really is England in one day. It has inspired us to return and spend time there.
This was a great tour especially to see the country side of England. A short time spent at both Stratford upon Avon and Bath, both quaint little villages. Preferred Bath over Stratford but still had our own time to wander and grab a drink or some lunch. We were so lucky with our tour of Stonehenge as we were at the end of the day when there and as our tour guide reminded us we had a "royal pass" He was very entertaining. It was a perfect time of day to see Stonehenge as it was nearing sunset. Took some beautiful photos of the whole day.
For a highlights type of tour this worked well for us as my husband had never been to any of these sites before. I would have liked to have spent more time at each venue but had been on the tour before so was ready for something more in-depth. But this tour was really for my husband so I have no complaints. The tour guide was knowledgeable and knows his business. We really appreciated his comments and views and the "extras" he brought to the tour. For example, when we got to Bath he pointed out the house that Jane Austen lived in when she was in Bath. While it wasn't necessary that he throw that in, I was very glad he did as I am a big Austen fan and so were a number of other people on the bus. We had a good safe bus driver. We very much appreciated that the bus driver brought along a couple of DVD videos for us to watch on the bus on the trip back to London from Stratford-on-Avon as it was a pretty long and boriing haul. I suggest that you always bring a movie or a couple of DVDs. All in all, we are satisfied with the tour and would not hesitate to take another through Viator.
Nice time. In October, was very cold at Stonehenge. Bring a jacket. Malcom our driver was excellent.
Excellent day. Fabulous tour guide. Very interesting . Would highly recommend
Steve, our driver, and John, our guide were Brilliant! They both entertained us greatly and made the day of touring so much fun. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! thank you John and Steve!!!!!
This tour was brilliant Frazer our tour guide was fantastic.
The England in One Day tour is certainly a great trip. Our tour guide, NICK, was beyond informative, personable, and helpful. The visits to Stratford, Bath, and Stonehenge were all delightful. We would strongly recommend this tour. Happy travel! -The Johnsons, Wichita, KS
We had a marvellous time on this tour. Our tour guide was top notch, supplying useful information about each site and places along the way. I found there was enough time at each stopping point to take in the sights. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quick overview of these places.
We were fortunate enough to have David as our guide in the England in One Day Tour. Not only was he very knowledgeable (about the history, the arts and sciences), he was passionate and enthusiastic during each minute of the 12 hour tour. It only made sense, because David himself is a school teacher, which he proudly exclaimed on various occasions. David shared what he knows about the places in between the main destinations too, so detailedly, down to pointing out a little pet fox which sits on a second story window of a countryside house.. ;) I loved the drive in between the destinations; the countryside of England is lovely. We were also shown some of the places where Harry Potter was shot. I can only imagine the Marvolo home sitting on one of those endlessly long grass fields. I only wish we were able to stay at each destination longer. But for what it's worth, given the tight schedule we were on, and the distance we were traveling from each location - this is a trip I wouldn't have been able to make and complete all in one day during my short stay in England. We were able to visit the historic Shakespeare's birthplace, the same village where his grave resides. Inside Shakespeare's home, we saw the window that famous British and American authors etched their names. Bath was beautiful and pastoral, David pointed out to us the class system which existed, and the houses a certain type of person lived. The Roman baths were really amazing, one of the last things the French preserved and did not demolish after the Italian invasion. At the Stonehenge, David shared with us Newton's mathematical conclusion on how old the remains were, and that today Stanford scholars made the same conclusions. David was very accommodating working with Keith the bus driver and had him slow the bus down often, counting to the seconds in which all of us can quickly snap scenic shots. In the future when I visit England and use the tour company again, I would definitely request for David.
