What You Can Expect

London Street Art Walking Tour

See street art by renowned international and local artists on your walking tour!

Your exciting city art tour begins in the morning on Old Street in central London. Meet your art-savvy guide and set off on a 3.5-hour walking tour of London’s East End, the long-time stomping ground of the city’s creative classes and a canvas for dynamic street art.

Your first stop is the Silicon Roundabout, the technology hub of London. Learn the history of this unique micro-region of art and technology, where artists staked claim in the early 2000s and were quickly followed by tech start-ups hungry for space and cheap rent. See the works of renegades turned acclaimed artists such as Banksy, Ben Eine, Shepard Fairey, ROA, Stik and Christiaan Nagel.

Admire intricate graffiti art and mixed media design that adorns brick, metal and concrete – making this one of the world’s largest open-air galleries. Explore alleyways and alcoves, discovering hidden gems in the shadows, and learn the unique history of this landmark art form that has risen from vandalism to global sensation. As a living art form, every tour offers a different look at this evolving underground world. After a guided walk, pause for a short break to refuel with coffee and snacks (own expense), or to take some extra time to independently browse the area’s eclectic shops, galleries and bars before continuing the tour.

Next, head through Brick Lane, home to artists such as Tracey Emin and Gilbert & George. Hear about historical significance of this area which – in addition to housing great artists – was once terrorized by Jack the Ripper. You’ll soon arrive at the trendy Spitalfields Market, a flourishing shopping district full of great pubs, cafés and eateries. Your tour ends here in time to pop into London's best fish and chips shops for a delectable lunch (own expense).

I loved this tour. This was my second day in London and set me on a course to notice street art throughout my visit. The neighborhoods we walked through were quirky and also very active and vibrant on Sunday. I appreciated our guides knowledge and perspective on the art and neighborhood. You also end up in a great area to spend the rest of your day.
