great value for money, the staff were friendly and made sure you were catered for at all times. great sights and an overall perfect romantic evening. A definite MUST GO!!! xx
SUPER TIME , A SUPER EXPERIENCE, EXCELLENT CANAPES, AND A TERRIFIC PRICE, COULD NOT HAVE WANTED MORE.
Wonderfujl beginning to our stay in London. Lovely sunset views, wonderful appetizers and the champagne just topped it off. Highly recommend this tour to anyone especially if it is your first day after a long international flight.
We met a British couple who were delightful and very informative about what we were passing by. We were in the cabin part of the boat. I think there was some kind of explanation on the top deck.
My group had loads of fun on the cruise. We got to see a so many London landmarks from a different perspective along the river. The food and drink was very good, and everyone aboard was having a marvelous time. Would highly recommend this tour for a relaxing end to a busy day of sightseeing.
The cruise was absolutely fantastic. It will bring you further up until Canary Wharf. The view on that day is magnificent with perfect sunset to enjoy. They will serve you with drink and snacks throughout the cruise. Will definitely recommend to others,
this was such a suprsie fun trip for us!!! we LOVED it! and was by far our favorite thing we did in London. we did it the 1st day we arrived and even though it wasn't very sunny out for a sunset (that is London for you...over cast and cloudy)...it didn't matter at all. most of the people on board were so cold..we all stayed below deck (but there were plenty of seats above deck to sight see and take pictures). downstairs they offer drinks and complimentary appetizers (was not expecting that) and some live light jazz music. we loved it and would definitly do it again!
Lovely cruise. A great way to start my first night in London.
This tour was enjoyed by all of us. We would recommend it.
I would definitely recommend doing this cruise. Very relaxing but also another great way to see buildings and points of interest in London. Loved it.
The trip down the Thames was spectacular and relaxing. However, the wine and snacks left a lot to be desired. I would have gladly paid a little more for better of each. I also had a dreadful experience. I had originally booked the Tea on the Thames. I had my confirmation for a month. It was not until a friend called to join our party and was told that I was not on the tea cruise. Had she not called to join our party, I would not have been notified. Someone dropped the ball on that one.
Not exactly what we expected, but we did enjoy the trip with the live music. No commentary on the sights we were passing, so take your map so you can identify sites on your own. Drinks after the 1st one were expensive but not out of line with prices in London.
the river cruise was great (once we got on board) the only word for that was chaotic.
The staff on the boat were friendly and polite. The "nibblers" were good.
The tour itself was fantastic.
Booking was easy via internet but on reaching 1 hour ahead to the gathering location at city cruise box at the Westminster pier was horrible I had to go 3 times to city cruise booth and each time explain the booking is valid as ling I have the e-booking reference... the staff there was of no help and kept sending me 3 times to Gate 2 to check if im in the booked list... I waited for 1 hour till the cruise came and I checked my e-ticket and was accepted... Emotionally I was stressed and I preferred not to do the e-booking and prefer to do it as walk-in.
This trip is well worth doing, The day we joined was mid week the boat was late in so we were standing about for quite a long time and the process of getting on the boat a little disorganised everyone fighting to get on first. Having said that the team who run the boat were very good and look after everyone really well, it is worth doing and value for the cost.
Disapointing actually. I had expected some comments about the less well known buildings. Also, many of the Hor de'voirs were only presented towards the end of the cruise. Other than that I found it to be a very worthwhile tour.
Initial scrum for boarding could have been avoided but once on board it was very pleasant and the nibbles/canapes and glass of fizz were very good. Also witnessed Tower Bridge opening for a ship - amazingly speedy!!
There was really nothing to see on this cruise. The sights were dark and there was no narration. We did, however, enjoy the snacks and wine.
Although the sites were lovely, I was under the impression that this was a sightseeing tour cruise. It wasn't. It was a date night cruise - musicians, selling alcohol, romantic, etc. My sister and I felt out of place. Also, there was no commentary on what was being shown. We sailed one way, sailed the way back. We only got one glass of champagne and cold, partially thawed miniquiches and minibagels, and were encouraged to buy more. Had I known all these details, I would not have gone.
Normally a sightseeing tour includes some type of communication telling you what you are "seeing". We went up a part of the river and turned around and came back with little or no idea what we were looking at and a lot of the tour was modern office buildings. I'm pretty sure most people don't go to London for the office buildings. Also, alcoholic beverages were offered on several occasions but little food to compensate. We were not impressed and we will not recommend the tour. It's nothing more than a boat ride with fancy crackers and booze.
Dear Sir or Madam,
We printed out the voucher for our River Thames Sunset Sightseeing Cruise, arrived in time and presented the signed voucher and lo and behold our names were not on the manifest, our voucher was deemed no good and we were asked to step aside while others boarded. After being highly embarrassed by the entire situation, the host eventually let us board last and the seating below reflected that also.
So Mr. or Ms or Mrs. Viator you can take your excursion and your survey and shove it where the sun don't shine. Anyone who would travel thousands of miles and use Viator are playing Russian roulette with their time and money. Also we received a notice from Viator that our credit information had been hacked. Bon Voyage.
On arrival at Westminster Pier there were no signs to advise which departure point the cruise would use. Stood at point 1 but the vessel docked at point 2.
To embark we had to negotiate a make shift step formed from 2 plastic crates which does not comply with H and S regulations.
Once on board we found that the cruise was being used by a large group of ladies as a "Hen Night" venue. This resulted in a very noisy evening and us hardly being able to hear the musical entertainment provided on board. Not the relaxing sightseeing sail which we expected.
When the boat reached Canary Wharf it turned around to make its way back up river. We did not see Greenwich and the Cutty Sark as promised in the itinerary.
On the way back we expected to sail under Westminster Bridge to pass by the Houses of Parliament (as detailed in the itinerary) before docking at Westminster Pier.
It was a lousy experience. The boat was little and very unconfortable. The wine and food very poor. And the worst thing happened at the end of the trip, as we passed under a crowded bridget and got attaked by some idiots with bootle full of water and juice. We got really scared and some poeple even got hurt. The crew said they were very sorry and pretended as nothing happened. I was ready to go to the police, but I cuoln't wait to go back to the hotel to was and relax. I just hope they made a report to the authorites.
