A most enjoyable journey with our host/guide/driver Tony Lawless of International Friends. He was at the meeting place promptly as scheduled, jovial, informative and accessible to all his clients. The visit to Stonehenge was the zenith of the trip for me and we were able to spend satisfactory time.
Loved the tour, but too little time in Lacock. Our tour guide was great!
We have used Viator's small group tours in Italy, France and now London. Each time the tour experience has been exceptional! I am not sure how you hire your guides yet, they always are so diverse in their historical knowledge and Tony (London's) was hilarious!
We were looking for a small-group day trip to Stonehenge and Bath that would give us the most possible time in both places. After looking at many other tours, we chose this one as it had the fewest "stops" on the tour. I can't imagine adding another destination to this itinerary as there is simply not enough time for a proper visit.
This tour was exactly as advertised. Our group was only 11 people, which made it even more enjoyable. Our guide, Chicago Mike, was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. And because we were in an "executive coach" and not a big tour bus, he was able to drive down small lanes and show us a few extra sights not originally on the tour, such as Avebury and Woodhenge, which were both very interesting.
Lacock was a great first stop. The town is absolutely charming. When we arrived, I remembered I'd visited the ruins of the old abbey that is located there when I was a studying abroad almost 30 years ago. The town, despite being a setting for Harry Potter films and PBS mini-series seems basically unchanged.
Our visit to Bath included a tour of the baths, and then we were able to roam around the town on our own for about 90 minutes or so. We loved the gorgeous Georgian architecture. We had time to grab a quick lunch and have a tasting of locally produced ciders at a pub tucked away on a side street.
Stonehenge was fantastic, and exceeded our expectations. Our guide had given us a lot of information along the way so we could truly appreciate what we were seeing. Despite the fact that many other tourists were visiting at the same time, we definitely didn't feel crowded or overwhelmed. In fact, we can't believe how many of our photos look like we were the only people there.
Great tour, great guide, and great experience. Highly recommend.
Sights worth seeing, well conducted by a good guide; excellent tour. My only complaint is that in Bath and again in Lacock, our guide told us to be back at our vehicle at a certain hour, but at that hour the guide and his vehicle were not at the designated meeting place, which resulted in the waste of several minutes between the time when we got back, and the time when the guide finally arrived with the vehicle. Not a long time wasted, but precious minutes nevertheless, in view of the very limited time available at each stop. Otherwise excellent tour.
The tour was as advertised. We had a small group and enjoyed the trip. Great tour guide and driver.
Our tour guide, Tony was fantastic! He has a great sense of humor and really kept us entertained while sharing information about the attractions. We loved the small-group tour and enjoyed every minute! Thank you, Tony!
A great day trip out of London and our tour guide Tony was great, funny and informative!! A must!!
It was a very entertaining trip. Our guide, Tony, and bus driver, Rupert, were both very knowledgeable and humorous and kept the trip interesting. We were picked up on time and arrived at our destinations without delay. We had ample opportunity to explore the destinations without running out of time at any of the venues we visited.
Small group was fantastic. We drove down some country lanes that a big coach could not posssibly enter. Loved Lacock and was excited to see some of the buildings from the mini series Pride and Prejudice. Bath was a beautiful place, with some great shopping and Stonehenge was just amazing. Our bus driver Robert was terrific, very friendly and obliging. A full but enjoyable day out of London.
I had a great time on this tour, amazing knowledgable guide and amazing places to visit!
My two teenage daughters and I had one of the best days of our holiday on this tour. The guide/driver - Tony - was highly entertaining and clearly knew his history. We laughed all day and learned so much. Well worth every cent.
Wonderful day! My friend and I were expecting 14 other people on the mini van, but, we ended up being the only 2 !!! Our driver, Mike, was like an encyclopedia of English history....graciously answering all our questions! He tailored the day to our wishes, and even turned off the road ( at our request) for us to visit a little village not on the original intinerary! Highly satisfied and would definately recommend this trip and driver!
Awesome tour with Mike, the driver and guide!!! He was gracious and so knowledgeable about everything. Talked non stop and told us everything about the tour sights and sights along the way. His enthusiasm was contagious. Probably one of the best days of my entire life to see Stonehenge and Bath!
My wife and I loved this because her family was from Lacock.
Tony L gave us a wonderful tour. He was very informative and easy to converse with. Best tour while we in England.
Tony was a great tour guide. He has a lot of knowledge about the areas. I thought stopping in Lacock was a waste. Would have enjoyed spending more time in Bath. It was perfect with the small bus of 16.
Overall a very good experience. The tour guide Mike was the best. The one downside was that we where not drop off at the same place we where picked up at. This added taxi fare to the trip and some inconvenience to the trip.
Great tour guide and some very scenic sites. Felt I got a really good taste of the English country side and what is outside of London.
Not very good. The guide, when I did manage to find him, was boring, uninteresting, and poorly organized. A complete waste of money and time!!
The motor coach had no air conditioning and the windows did not open! Most awful heat and humidity, which really took away from everything else. The tour guide did work hard, but said that he worked for many other companies, which indicated to me that he was not really invested in offering solutions. There were three of us, definitely not worth the 450 dollars!
