Very nice tour. Small group was great and Tony, our guide, was great! The Cotswold area was beautiful and with the small minibus we went on a number of back roads.
United States of America
Great tour with a very knowledgeabl tour guides who were able to answer all of our questions and bring the history of England to life.
We had a wonderful guide in Chicago Mike. His narration was great and he fill Ed us with many facts previously unknown. Would highly recommend this tour.
So thankful I paid the extra for the Small-Group. Our van was able to go where the larger buses can't. Our guide was AWESOME!
Great tour and fantastic driver. His Irish humour was infectious, and when combined with excellent historical knowledge, the day was exactly what I'd hoped for.
A beautiful day out with Tony ( a very funny guy) as our guide. This was a favorite of my tours in England. We were glad we decided to spend a bit extra to go on the small tour in a van instead of a large coach tour. There is no way we could have gone on the narrow country roads and through the small villages on a bus. The walking tour of Oxford was just enough to let us know we needed to come back and spend a couple days on our next visit. The time in Stratford allowed ample time to explore Shakespears home, have a coffee and browse the shops. To see the Cotswolds on a lovely sunny day in May was a stroke of luck. All in all a great tour. Wish I could give it an extra star.
The best way to do this tour is a small group with a well informed and flexible guide and professional driver which we had. Oz, our guide taking into consideration weather changes turn the tour around and we did Shakespeare country first leaving Oxford last which worked out very well and we were also fortunate with brilliant weather and sunshine. Our compliments to. Oz and Nick for a very educational and pleasant day out and we were very happy and would highly recommend this to our friends.
Everything about this tour was thoroughly enjoyable. Oz, our tour guide, was charming, knowledgeable, easy-going and fun. He juggled the itinerary a bit (because of a One Direction concert that evening in London) and got us into Stratford early, ahead of the crowds. Liked the small group and small bus, our excellent driver (whose name, sadly, we have forgotten), and all the stops. Definitely reccomend this for a day full of beautiful sites and lots of history.
This was a wonderful trip. Andrew, our tour guide was very informative with all that we saw. I liked this small group trip since we were able to go on some roads which bigger buses wouldn't have been able to get to. Would certainly do this again and would recommend this tour to everyone.
We had an absolutely wonderful trip with Debbie on this tour. She was delightful, full of stories, and so knowledgeable. The small villages were a bonus. We would take another viator trip again and hope we have the opportunity to do so.
Had a great time on this tour, our guide Debbie and driver Paul were fantastic. Debbie was a local from Oxford and she really provided a great insight to the area, the Cotswolds was like a movie set and because we were on a small tour we were able to go to villages that the big tours couldn't get too. We had lunch at a great pub that was a bit off the beaten track and got a bit of an insight into village life. Stratford upon Avon was very interesting and we had just enough free time to look around. The tour has given me an overview of this area and I am already planning a longer visit
This tour was the highlight of our day trips! Our guide, Tony, was terrific! He knew so much history and was able to tell us so much about each of our sites. I yearned for more time in Oxford and now plan to return there. Oxford was my favorite place of all places I visited in England. The drive through the charming Cotswold villages was beautiful and quaint - well worth the trip. And Stratford was most interesting. A great day!
Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon in one day make the trip a wee bit thin because each place is so full of charm and things to do and see. All the same, I highly recommend this trip for anyone who is visiting England for less than a month, just because it is possible to get so much into a day. Each area is seductive in its own way. History and natural beauty abound. The tour guide, David, was full of entertaining and interesting tidbits of history and was most accommodating. He went out of his way, quite literally, to see that all of us had a pleasant experience and ended the day smiling.
This was an excellent tour, exactly as described. We were a small group in a van, the guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Another 5-star tour from Viator, this was a terrific experience with our tour guide, Dave. He was extremely knowledgeable and took plenty of time at each location to truly get the feel of it. Oxford was magical, I think I could have stayed there all day as we only saw a small portion of it, but what we did see gave us a good overview. The Cotswolds are delightful, the villages themselves were charming and the local people were very warm and welcoming. Stratford-upon-Avon was a little bit of a disappointment as we really did not have time to see Anne Hathaway's cottage, but overall the tour was magnificent. Another terrific small group experience.
This was probably the most enjoyable tour I've purchased from Viator. Our guides David and Andrew were knowledgeable and fun, not to mention flexible. David drove us through many different villages in the Cotswolds including Bibury, Lower Slaughter and Stow-on-the-Wold - the views were stunning! We got the chance to get out of the minibus for a stroll and to take photos where there were no other tourists. David was very careful in making sure everyone on the bus was safe and dropped us off at our requested destinations at the end of the tour.
Highly recommended over large-group tours!
Loved this tour! Robert our guide/tour bus driver was great. We first went to Oxford to meet our guide for our locale tour. I wish I could remember his' name because he deserves props for this tour. He graduated from Oxford so his' knowledge was great. After Oxford we went to a town in the Cotswolds and walked around for about 40 minutes then went to another Cotswold town for lunch. The Cotswolds were amazing. The next stop was Stratford-upon-Avon. My husband and I really didn't care for it. The town was over run with tourists and just took away from Shakespeare's home, but don't let that keep you from this tour. I highly recommend it.
Great tour. Dave was our driver and guide with the exception of Oxford when a local guide, Debbie, took over. Stratford-upon-Avon is a bit touristy but a must see if you have not been there. Dave made the Cotswolds come alive taking us to several small villages via back roads! Loved every minute!
Very nice, even though it rained the whole day, the guides wit and knowledge made it very pleasant. Our group was only five so we got to know them well. He dropped us close to our hotel on the way home.
It was perfect! Mike is so amazing--fun to be with and so knowledgable. It was great to be in a small group, much more personable. For someone without a lot of time, it was great to be able to go to the places I most wanted to see. Stratford, Oxford, back lanes in the Cotswolds--not to be missed.
This was what I in mind for a small group: six of us in a compact van. The driver was also the tour guide and did a fantastic job. There was an arrangement to meet another guide who led us on a walking tour of Oxford; she was also great. Instead of drving through the Cotswolds, we actually made a few stops. Lunch was a savored in a historic setting. All in all, a definitely wonderful/memorable experience.
