Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Southampton Shore Excursion: Post-Cruise Tour to London via Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Loved that we could hit all three locations with plenty of time. Dropped us right off at our hotel. All good!
I've been on a lot of tours in Europe, but our guide was probably the best tour guide we have ever had. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the different locations we visited. The guide was waiting for us when we got off our cruise ship and dropped us off right at our London hotel once the tour was complete. If you want to go inside Windsor Castle and up to Stonehenge make sure to purchase tickets ahead of time, otherwise you'll waste a good amount of time waiting in line.
We glad that we've book this tour thru Viator. We had been taken cared off from the beginning when we got out of the gate at the port. Your connecting agent, International Friends was wattling and took care of us through out the tour until they dropped us to the Hotel. We gave the good review to the Original Hop On Hop Off sightseeing tour and also mentioned that we had booked all the excursions thru Viator.com. We should have booked the transfer to the airport, which would have cost less than the private arrangement from the Hotel. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Really enjoyed our tour to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. Our guide was full of knowledge and we learned so much. They delivered us to the door of our Hotel in London just as promised. I would recommend this tour as a post cruise trip.
Great way to get from Port to London. Make sure to purchase tickets on-line prior to arrival
Very knowledgeable and personable guide. Full of facts from the moment the bus left the dock at South Hampton. Well organized!
The only problem was having to wait for a second bus to take us to our hotel after the tour.
It was an amazing experience. Since Windsor castle was not open to us might I suggest that if it happens again that you split the time between Salisbury and Stonehenge. We could easily have spent more time there.
A perfect way to get to London......why would anyone not do this?
Our guide was knowledgeable, personable and caring. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone. ....five stars! Cheers, Karin Lynn from Canada.
The tour guide was outstanding and the tour was exactly as described. The bus was confortable and the driver professional. The hotel drop off was very convenient. The entire day far exceeded our expectations. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and answered all questions and provided additional historical annedotes and oddities.
I would recommend this to anyone and was a great experience for us. We were very pleased with the way our i pad got back to us after we left it on the bus. We contacted your office, another bus picking up passengers, next to our hotel brought it to that hotel the following morning and we picked it up from Tommy, the bus driver. We were so grateful to get it back. Thanks to all who helped us.
Had a wonderful day. Our guide was like a walking encyclopedia of information. He was personable and informative. All of the stops were amazing and the organ in the cathedral was being played live. Could have listened all day. This was a well organized tour from our pick up at the port to our lodge in London. We were originally told they could got get us right to our lodge, but they did it anyway! Kudos to the tour people,
Nice way to see a lot making your way from the cruise ship to London. Enjoyed the scenery along the way. It was absolutely beautiful. Showed the outer areas of London which we didn't know existed. This tour was much better than just being transported to London. Enjoyed Windsor Castle and Salisbury. Would highly recommend this tour to others.
Very knowledgeable guide and driver. It was a long day but worthwhile.
our guide made us feel like 1st class customers all the way...really got our monies worth!!!
My husband and I are fist time users of Viator and were very pleased with our tour from Southampton to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. Our guide, Rob, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He narrated the trip and guided us along the way. He lead us up to the entrances of Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. He went above and beyond when passengers were dropped off at hotels and helped take luggage to the door of the hotels. Our driver James, navigated some very tight roads and did an excellent job. My suggestion would be that you let your booked passengers know that the tour is handled by International Friends and not Viator (this info was not on my voucher I printed out). I asked security at the terminal doorway where to meet our Viator tour and they had not heard of Viator. A placard in the front of the bus listing the tour would also be helpful. I overlooked the option of paying for entrance fees to Stonehenge and Windsor and wish I had done that. The line at Windsor Castle was so long and with only a couple of hours to tour we were afraid that we would spend and hour in line for tickets. We toured the town instead and took the train from London on another day and took the tour, purchasing tickets online for entrance.
Our cruise disembarked in Southhampton and our flight back to the states was not until the next morning. Our travel agent recommended taking a Viator tour on the way back to Heathrow. We were not disappointed. While we were looking forward to Stonehenge (closed due to the summer solstice), the substitution of Winchester Cathedral was acceptable.
We were met promptly at the cruise port. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. After reading about long queues at Windsor Castle, we bought tickets on line in advance. This gave us some extra time at the Castle. Our only complaint, was that our guide should have told us to grab something to eat at Winchester. From reading the write-up, we were under the impression there would be lunch time at Windsor. This was not the case and time was very tight at the Castle if you wanted to tour it.
We were dropped off at the front door of our hotel and our guide kindly assisted us with our luggage.
Aside from the lunch matter, it was a delightful and interesting day, permitting us to see places we had not previously. We would highly recommend this tour, but just check with your guide about the best time to grab a bite to eat.
Even though our ship was late in arriving our guide waited for us. The tour was far above my expectations.
Premier Tours did a fantastic job. Our guide Rob and driver Geoff made the day entertaining and memorable.
Best deal around if you are coming off a ship and going into London. Cruise lines charge much more for the transfer and you only stop at one place. Was interesting that after Windsor people are put into smaller buses going into London. Luggage is taken to your hotel while you are at Windsor, then people are put into smaller buses and taken to the front door of your hotel! That is a real plus!
Tour organized by International Friends, who picked us up right on time at the cruise terminal. We were the only ones booked that day, and had Tony all to ourselves. He was extremely knowlegable and entertaining, telling us facts and stories all along the drive. We had ample time at each stop (of course, we pretty much set our own schedule since we were the only guests) and took wonderful photos. Tony then dropped us off at our London hotel with a handful of helpful London tips. I highly recommend this tour and tour company when arriving on a cruise ship or traveling in London any other time.
The bus was waiting for us at the pier. The driver and tour guide were terrific and very knowledgeable. After visiting the 3 sites included on the tour, we were dropped off in front of our hotel in London. We could not have done this excursion and hotel drop off on our own at twice the cost. I would highly recommend this excursion!
