This half day trip was the perfect length. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and well informed. Windsor was beautiful, and, unlike at Kensington where only a couple of rooms were available for viewing, there were dozens of beautiful rooms to walk through.

Windsor Castle is steeped in history and well worth the visit. However, as I have an uncle who was killed in WWII who has a plaque at the Runnymede Cemetery, I was really hoping to visit Runnymede. I figured if we stopped where they signed the Magna Carta, I could just walk up the hill to the air force memorial. This was not to be; all we did was drive past the hill in the bus and the guide pointed out the sight. No stop at all. As this was the main reason I chose this tour, I was bitterly disappointed. I don't understand how the tour operator can advertise this way.

We had a good tour guide. Windsor Castle is amazing. Too bad we could not take pictures inside.

I enjoyed the trip. The trip to Runnymede was just a drive by, which unfortunately I slept through--my fault. I thought we would stop and take pictures, so I was disappointed in that portion. The guide was terrific.

Fortunately, the tour guide made the slow and tedious drive out of central London to and from the town of Windsor enjoyable with his humorous tales of British folklore. He was a character. The town of Windsor with it's shops and stores was surprisingly enough, just as appealing if not more than the castle. I would have liked to have spend more time there in the town. Nonetheless, once inside the castle, after standing in long lines you then follow the crowd through a few opulent state rooms, and that's it. You also carry these bulky, box-like radios that you hold to your ear that was supposed to explain what you're looking at, but they didn't work very well. So, we gave up on using those fast. We saw about 10% of the Castle itself. I just got the feeling there was much more to see, but because of the long lines into each room, there just wasn't enough time. 1.5 hours to Windsor, 1.5 hours in the Castle and 1.5 hour ride back to London. I liked Buckingham Palace more.
