Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Dearly Departed: The Tragic History Tour of Los Angeles. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Wow, this was a great tour! Guide Brian was so much fun and full of information on various deaths in Hollywood. The tour stopped at various places and going around the cemetery to see graves of famous people was really interesting. This tour is well worth the money and time of 2 and a half hours. I learned so much I didn't know! If you are in this area, do this tour. The shop is also a little museum and has some really great T shirts so check these out too. Thanks for a great entertaining afternoon guys!
The tour was more than just about death...so much more! Our guide Brian was knowledgeable, personable and so obviously in love with Los Angeles and all of its quirks and hidden secrets. I highly recommend.
Had a blast!! Our tour guide Brian was funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. I plan to Take another one of your tours again. The reason we chose this tour company over any of the other competitors was the great reviews. I can honestly say we are happy with our decision. Thank you for a fun experience
Trip was really interesting. Brian was fantastic as our driver and guide and included lots of interesting commentary - not just about the dearly departed! We did the trip on Halloween (and visiting from England), it was so much fun to see all the effort taken to decorate the houses and gardens and Brian included an additional 'homes of the Stars' bit. The trip was full at 16 people which gave it a friendly, informal feel.
Well worth doing - and a bit different from the usual trips on offer. Make sure you arrive early and have a good look around at all the collected memorabilia in the mini-museum!!
Absolutely loved this tour. I loved the gallery prior to our tour. I was thrilled to meet Scott and chat with him about Rocky Horror etc (I have been following his site since Girls Next Door) Our guide was Brian and he is absolutely hilarious and informative. I cant praise this tour enough thank you
Our tour guide, Brian, was so much fun! He was so knowledgeable and gave us information not only about the tour itself but other interesting items about Los Angeles. Well worth the time and money and would definitely take another one of their tours again!!
This tour was extremely enjoyable. Richard our tour guide was funny, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. Definitely one of the best tours in LA. Dearly Departed is a must do!
The tour guide was fantastic, the tour was interesting. I liked the fact that other points of interests were shown and talked about on the tour and the book was a good guide.
We loved the tour and the information the guide gave was incredible. The one complaint we have is that the van did not have large enough windows to see the sites. Anyone sitting on an inside seat, or in the middle of the last row could not see the buildings that were being pointed out.
A great tour. Well worth doing if you're in los Angeles and wanting something a bit different. Recommend!
If you are looking to do something different that's a lot of fun this is the perfect tour. Brian is an amazing guide with lots of great information and a wonderful sense of humor.
This tour was amazing! Our tour guide Brian was fantastic, full of personality, humour and enthusiasm. Brian had an amazing knowledge of the seedier side of Hollywood, and even managed to keep our pre-teen boys entertained throughout the tour. The tour was heartbreaking, and fascinating. Having been a murder 'buff' for many years, I really 'enjoyed' seeing all the places I had read about. Would highly recommend doing this tour to anyone interested in something different, interesting and entertaining.
The tour was excellent and the guide was superbly knowledgeable! I would definitely do this again.
Loved this! Bring back the George Michael toilet stop and send me the arrest report!
Go on this this, it's absolutely brilliant. Meeting point is a shop on Sunset, quite near to Amoeba Music, so pretty easy to find.
On arrival, we were greeted By Scott, who showed us around the shop's collection of curiosities. Give yourself time for this. Then it was of on our minibus with our guide Brian Donnelly, who has a real passion and enthusiasm for all things morbid and curious, all done in a very interesting and entertaining style, which really made this tour an absolute pleasure. Amongst other things we saw, The Chateau Marmot, The Viper Rooms, crime scenes of the Black Dahlia, where Michael Jackson passed away and it's relation to Elvis's LA place. Do it!
Brian our guide was Awesome. Funny, interesting and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Definitely worth doing
Very highly recommended!
Informative, funny and enjoyable tour into the darker side of Hollywood.
Would do it again without hesitation.
Very enjoyable, our guide was full of information about the dearly departed. Please try it, you will enjoy it.
This is a really excellent way to spend an afternoon! A fabulous, original tour that will surely appeal to most people (especially if you like to discover the 'darker' side of things!) Brian, our tour guide was both witty and informative and really made us laugh! Even as a Brit, you will know most of the sites and this really is a great alternative to the usual movie star home type tours. You will see many interesting things such as The Viper Room (where River Phoenix died) and the death places of Janis Joplin, John Belushi etc. I really cannot recommend this enough, the two and a half hours simply flew by! Thanks guys, and keep up the good work!
Loved this tour, Brian is heaps of fun and very knowledgeable!!
This tour was awesome! Brian is a born tour guide! The tour was extremely interesting, I couldn't take pictures fast enough, they even went out of their way to take me by Lucille Ball's old house. Super friendly and nice, an excellent tour!!!
What a wonderfully funny and macabre tour! This is a great option for those of us who enjoy the sick and twisted and want to know all of Hollywood's dark (`sometimes hilarious) secrets. But this is definitely not the tour to take the kids or sweet grandma on - there are some truly disturbing images and stories! My tour guide had a lot of info and also shared funny celeb stories and more lighthearted fare along with all the gore. We got to see the house from Happy Days and heard about how Lucille Ball invited strangers in to her home while also hearing about the gruesome Black Dahlia murder and the Menendez brothers so it was a good balance. It was a really fun afternoon; I definitely recommend this tour.
