I highly recommend this day trip to Tijuana! It is a long day as it is a far drive from Hollywood but it was such a great experience. We had Craig as our tour guide and he is absolutely sensational! One of the best tour guides ever! He informed us of what to do and what not to eat, best places to eat and drink. The day trip was such a culture shock from crossing the border to eating all the cheap food and all the cheap drinks! Highly recommended!
Great day Craig our guide was fantastic well worth the visit
Fantastic tour. Fantastic tour guide Jose. Only difficulty was getting out of Mexico (long wait)!
Jose was a great driver, very helpful getting in and out of Mexico, and knowledge if where 2 shop
We enjoyed our Tijuana day trip experience, however the traffic getting out of the city in the morning held us up and was so going....that's L.A. Renovations to the access crossing the boarder into Tijuana was a bit difficult for those with walking ability..a good walker, no problems. The buritto's were fantastic, and we enjoyed a mexican beer off the tap. Some enjoyed the shopping, we were there for the overall tourist experience. Our driver was very good although a bit of commentary would have been appreciated. We enjoyed sitting back and enjoying the scenery. Pick-up from the hotel was punctual and the ongoing coaches were organised quickly. We recommend....but don't complain!! Have a great day!!
Was a long day, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Jose, our driver, was fantastic!! He pointed out interesting spots on the trip to Tijuana and on arrival in Mexico he gave us clear instructions regarding where our pick up place and what our meeting time was. He got us there and back safely. Nothing was a bother. Never having been to Mexico before this trip was a great way to experience it. Highly recommend :-)
Guide was amazing would not have been able to negotiate the boarder crossing with out him. Interesting visit
Great trip the tour guide was fantastic, showed us all there was at tijuana.even dropped us off at our hotel in redondo beach
Regard's Daniel henderson
Great day thanks to the assistance of our guide. Very different experience and glad there was a guide to keep us well informed
Was a really good day. Jose was 1st class tour guide giving lots of information and making sure we were safe at all times. Glad he found a quicker route across the border on way back.Enjoyed eating a Caesars hotel the staff were very friendly.
It was a long day but had a good time. I would go again for some nice food and margaritas :)
This was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Jose, was the best. Use the eating/shopping places he recommends but have fun bartering in the other places - and make sure you get the stamp for your passport at the liquor store. Be Prepared for a 3 hour wait to return to USA - still worth the trip. Despite all the bad news about Mexico we never felt unsafe when walking around but stay where your guide tells you
Loved this trip- a big day but so worth it, was it my favorite part of our entire american trip. Our driver,Jose made this a trip really easy and was a good sort, PS the margaritas and mexican pottery rocked.
Excellent tour - well worth the trip - of course the traders all want a sale but you don't have to buy if you don't want to. Enjoyable time
Very long day and crossing the border back can take up to 3 hours! but very interesting experience
The driver did not give any background on any part of the trip fro LA to the border and back. He considered his job as driver only. wasted opportunity to give us really great experience. However the time TJ was great
The day trip to Tijuana is a good mix of fun, shopping and adventure. There a lot of "pharmacies" that will sell you the usual meds without prescription and I loved the snake skin boots but there was no way Mr Customs was going to let me back into Australia with them. That is one thing to remember when you get carried away with the moment of shopping, that most things can come back into the USA but not so into Australia
Nothing wrong with the organisation or travel facilities but we were bitterly disapointed with Tijuana.
Full of 2nd rate souvenir shops , non stop hastle from vendors, beggars and taxi drivers. Only positive was lunch at the "Ceaser" hotel famed for its Ceaser salad. Getting back thro US immigration was a 3/4 hour haul , aparently that was short, it is up to 3 hours on occasions. Our tour guide was helpful and informative. Will not be in a hurry to return.
A very long day indeed. You really only get about 2hrs in Tijuana, then its a very long line back into the US. At least I get to say I've been to Mexico :)
We left LA later than the advertised 9.30am start with no explanation. On the way there was no commentary from the driver. We stopped at a rest area for a toilet break just before San Diego and the driver spent time talking on his mobile. Then we diverted to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo to drop people off. We had no idea that this was going to happen. On arrival at the border the Guide was good at explaining border procedures and places and times that we needed to meet. We were given no tips on where to shop and places to see - we were just dropped off in downtown Tijuana and told to meet back at a per- determined time. Later we learned that if we could have seen a bull ring and cultural centre - too late when we found out from other tourists. The Guide stays with us for the border crossing and was advising us on what to do.
On the return trip there was no commentary. Without explanation we pulled up at the San Diego Harbour and we told that we had a 10 minute break. Then we resumed the return journey to LA. Numerous motel drop- offs delayed our return to downtown LA. An enjoyable day but we were expecting a tour with commentary and support from the driver.
