The trip was beautiful! The zoo is impressive. The service was great. I highly recommend this trip to all my friends! Don't forget the camera!
I would highly recimmed this tour and Viator as a company to all my friends.
Firstly the local office telephone number printed on our voucher wasn't correct but they were able to give me the right number. VIP Tours office and transport centre was only a 2 minute walk so we didn't bother using the hotel pick-up although I think this is very useful if your hotel is farther away. We did get dropped off at our hotel afterwards tho which was great as it was a very long day.
The trip itself - transport was great and we got to the zoo about 11.15am with the bus returning for us at 6pm. The zoo was outstanding!! Polar bears and pandas were definitely the highlights for us (these are our favorites!). The enclosures all looked pretty big and the place was very clean, although of course animals do smell! We ate at Sydney's Hangout which was fine - a little on the expensive side, but no more than you'd expect at a zoo or theme park. Tour bus was great and covered some of the stuff we'd missed because of the steep terrain. Zoo map is helpful here as it tells you the level of the different walks - mild to steep terrain. A great day - don't forget your camera!

You get picked up on time and driven to the Zoo. We had a fantastic day at the Zoo. Lots to see and do. It's a great place to take family's.
Had a great day highly recommended. Tour company excellent with free popcorn for the trip down to San Diego.
Nos gustó mucho el dia en el zoo de San Diego. El transporte muy bien, unas 2 horas y media con una parada fuera de los Angeles para recoger a mas gente y 6 horas completas dentro del zoo. Si os gustan los animales os lo recomiendo!

It was a good day. The pickup was late but still made it to the main change point on time and the driver returned us to our hotel even though it was not a standard pick up hotel
Before I get to the actual zoo, I would like to offer a bit of advice. You get picked up and taken to a depot for the actual bus. Our hotel was in Anaheim, 10mins walk from Disney. We were told we'd get picked up at about 8.30am... for the bus to take us a 2min drive which we could have walked in 5mins... and had a bit of a lie in as well. haha. So my advice is to double check when you phone to confirm your booking is to check with them how far away from, might save you hanging about for no reason. Now to the zoo... it's only an hour and a half from Anaheim and the driver give some good info and also clear info on pick up times etc. The zoo itself is amazing and I'd recommend that you take the tour bus when you get in, you get to see most of the zoo and gives you time to visit the parts of the zoo you really want to see. Basically, it makes sure that you get to see pretty much everything. Highly recommend this trip, gives you the opportunity get up close to some fascinating species in environments where you get a clear view without bars in the way, plus you're supporting the great conservation projects the zoo is involved with -
I had friendly drivers who communicated well. I was picked up by the shuttle a little too early from my hotel in the morning, seeing as I waited 45mins-1hr for the bus to depart for the zoo from the main transit centre. Also, I had an issue with the way I was spoken to when I rang the local call centre to reconfirm my booking. This person was very sarcastic and rude to me, especially considering it was a requirement of the booking that I ring to reconfirm. Apart from that, my aim was to see San Diego Zoo and that I did, so I cannot complain too much.
San Diego Zoo is massive. I think normally a day wouldn't be enough but the day we went most of the animals were indoors or had just had babies so were not on display. We saw plenty of varieties of pig and birds though and the Pandas were well worth seeing, very cute.
A really impressive variety of animals at the zoo. Even though the animls had large cages and lots of thought went into cage design, things to keep them busy etc, there were still a few animals (particularly the big cats and bears) that ddint seem happy. Always makes me sad to see this. I know zoos have their place but it is so much betterto see these animals in the wild, and having done this, I'll never really be happy seeing them fenced in.
But for those that cant get on safari etc, this is a zoo with plenty to see and keep you busy.
Was a good tour. Zoo was huge and very hilly. Too many school groups put a dampner on the day. Rude kids an teacher's everywhere. The zoo has some great animals and enclosures.
For the amount of hype put into the San Diego Zoo, it wasn't that great! Could have been better but the transportation and our guide were excellent. He even popped in a movie to quench the 2 and a half hour ride.
