What You Can Expect

Mount Titlis Eternal Snow Half-Day Trip from Lucerne

Admire the breathtaking landscape from the rotating cable car

In central Lucerne, you’ll board your coach to head south to Engelberg, a charming village in the Alps. It’s a 45-minute ride to the top of 10,000-foot (3,020-meter) Mt Titlis. With a guide, enjoy the leisurely journey while admiring incredible views along the way. The 45-minute ascension is all about the gorgeous mountain vistas!

How you spend the two hours at the glacial summit is up to you. Consider simply strolling around, enjoying the cool mountain air in the snowy setting, or visit some of the snow-themed attractions, all included in the price of this tour. Board the rotating Titlis Rotair gondola for 360-degree views of surrounding jagged peaks. The Ice Flyer chairlift offers a different perspective of the glacial ice from above. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can slip and slide down the slopes on a snow tube in Titlis Glacier Park or, if you’re not spooked by extreme heights, walk along the narrow suspension bridge, Cliff Walk. You might also descend to the frozen grotto dubbed Glacier Cave, home to millions of ice crystals below the surface of Mt Titlis.

If hunger strikes, check out several summit restaurants offering traditional alpine food and drink (own expense).

When your fun on Mt Titlus is complete, you’ll meet your guide at a prearranged time for the cable-car ride back to Engelberg. Here, board your coach once again for your return to Lucerne; the tour comes to an end at the starting point.

It was well organised. Every moment was interesting. The tour guide Erika was fantastic and did a wonderful job. Money well spent.

It was very nice experience. The day was sunny, enjoyed each activity in the tour.
The chairlift ride on the Ice Flyer and slide down the Glacier Park snow slide were most exciting.
Suggestion : Manage the time for each activity properly so as to cover all the things.

The only thing that could have been better was the weather!
Despite the low cloud and low visibility on the mountain it was an enjoyable trip. The drive from Lucerne was beautiful - almost worth doing on it's own.
The ice tunnel was impressive as was the hot chocolate to warm up afterwards!

We are so pleased we did this tour. It was amazing and we were lucky to see snow at the end of May, it was very special. If you visit Switzerland you have to see amount Titlus - isn't an absolute must. We have some of the best photos ever from here and we went on a 4 week trip around Europe. My only suggestion is to hire snow boots before walking to the suspension bridge or bring another pair of socks.

My second time to do this tour. Previously I went with my daughter 3 years ago and incidentally we had the same tour guide as we did this time. Weather was perfect a wonderful panoramic view awaited us at the top. Robert is careful to explain everything clearly so you do get the best out of your time on the mountain.
Previously the weather was not in our favour but we enjoyed how volatile and changeable the mountain was. I will happily do this tour again. oh and the Indian Samosa at the bottom of the mountain too are amazing.
