Unfortunately, when we arrived in Switzerland, the weather took a turn for the worse, so on the day of our tour, it was only about 2 degrees centigrade and snowing at the top of Mount Pilatus, so we couldn't see anything. There were no views whatsoever. It was pouring rain the entire ride up and snowing at the top, and we couldn't see beyond 10 feet, so the trip was kind of pointless, but the tour operator can't control Mother Nature. Had the weather cooperated, this would have been an amazing tour. Our guide was fantastic. She was very organized, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of fun facts with us. She also spoke 4 languages, so she was able to accommodate everyone in our group. Weather permitting, I highly recommend this tour.

Definitely worth doing. Nice people and well organized. The train ride was cute and filled with magnificent views.

I feel that we could have been told about the surroundings and given some background about Mt Pilatus, or just told us anything about the surroundings. Instead we just taken by bus to where the carts begin and on top of the mountain told do what you want to do.

Not that I do not recommend Mt. Pilatus at all. I do not recommend the tour through an operator. If this has to be done, it MUST be individually. The only fun part of Mt. Pilatus is at the Pilatus Seilpark and our tour operators have primarily forgotten to entertain the people. The tour starts with a loooooong cable car ride and takes us directly to the top of Pilatus. The main entertainment and fun activities lie one stop before the top, that is the Seilpark. We never got to enjoy that or even have a glimpse. We hardly got 1.5 hrs on top of Pilatus where we could not even go around the mountain in that time nor could we sit and feed our hungry stomachs.
The downward journey is through the 48 gradient train. This is an amazing engineering feat but there is no excitement whatsover in the ride. Post that follows the boat ride which again rides through the corner of the lakes and is simply boring and tiresome.
