Lots of hills, curves and narrow roads. But a lovely ride that covers more than just the city, as it travels down the coast.
Excellent overview of Madiera. We especially enjoyed the green line stop at the small fishing village.
Unfortunately we did not have a lot of time. We found the bus and took it two stops. Got off, had lunch then had to get back to ship. Liked what we saw
We arrived by ship and the walk to catch the bus was a short scenic walk. We boarded the bus with our vouchers and the start of our tour was flawless. We rode the full route then went to the furthest stop that we wanted to get off at then worked our way back closest to the port. The stops were scenic and met our needs as far as what we wanted to see. We highly recommend this tour! It's well worth the price!
The best of our vacation destinations. Beautiful city, comprehensive tour that took us through all 'elevations' of this little paradise. We would book another tour and wish we had more time on this one. Great value for the price.
Thought we had access to the entire hop on hop off route, however we had a promotional ticket good only on the red line bus. Tour we took was good and informative about the island. Views were spectacular.
Sadly it was raining in Funchal limiting our activities and seeing and photographing many beautiful sites. I would however gladly return.
The tour on the was very good. The could do with updating their commentary to say exactly what are the main attractions before each stop! Unfortunately we had heavy rain and the roof was leaking in most places but very luckily not where we were sitting!
The tour was okay.... it rained the whole time we were on the tour. Not Viator's fault that the weather was so bad. What we did see was wonderful and would love to see it in the sunshine. I was amazed at the way the homes are built into the side of the cliffs. And the narrow streets made for an interesting tour.
Was easy to find stsrting point formthe tour, However through no fault of Viator's, there was another vus line which would have given us more of what we had wanted to see in Funchal, but we did not realize this when booking!...the tour we did take, was well worth the money and gave us a good overview!
Exactly what we wanted. We got a birds-eye view of the city, stopped for lunch and had a great time. Hopped off and back on three times for points of special interest.
Good way to see places in Funchal you might want to explore in greater depth.
This Hop-On Hop-Off bus even took us to another small city. You really get a great overview of the port and area. We again hopped off to see a flower market and fruits and vegetables. The vendors gave us samples but were upset when we did not buy their additional products. We walked the street and had lunch at a park where booths were set up displaying local wares.
The tour of the island is a must if you want to get to grip with what there is available to see and do.
As we were visiting for a day stop off from a cruise ship, this is the best way to capture the essence of life in Madeira.
My only criticism was that there was no audio commentary available; and it was not just a defective headset, others onboard concoured this.
I was very, very disappointed that it cost 20 percent more to book through you than to buy on the street. Won't make that mistake again.
The tour itself was good but the stops were not clearly marked and the drivers stopped at random points to drop travellers off.
The HOHO bus stop is quite a walk from the cruise terminal. Other than that, it is value for money in Funchal. It is a wonderful island city.
Not much to see but everyone very helpful . Lovely little gushing village where we got train to high view very good need to publizize that more.
We have taken a number of Hop On-Hop Off tours in various countries. This was one of the best! It provided an interesting and informative introduction to Madeira at a very reasonable price. We can always count on Viator to deliver value.
I lost precious time on Funchal, the hop-on-off tour takes you to places where there's nothing to see. Would not recommend it at all, just walk around downtown by yourself, it's not big and it's very pretty.
