Fantastic! These cities are beautiful - every bit as good as Toledo. Segovia especially is great. The only downside is that for the eight hour tour, four of the hours are spent on the bus. The tour is in both English and Spanish simultaneously, which is a little bit of a drag. We had a tour guide who unfortunately catered much more to the Spanish-speaking part of the group. There were 40 people on the tour, and it seems as though the cost of the bus is the major expense, so why not have two guides, one in Spanish and one in English? I would definitely do it again, but I would likely skip Avila and go right to Segovia.

The bus was comfortable, but the windows were filthy. The tour was well organized, but our guide spoke poor English and did not communicate well. Lunch was great.

This tour was well organized and run according to a well-established plan. It left Madrid right on time and returned according to plan. I loved Segovia and enjoyed a little free time on our own.

There was a lot more walking than was mentioned in the tour description.

We enjoyed seeing Avila and Segovia, but our group was simply too big. Every seat on the bus was filled, so there must have been close to 50 people. You cannot have one guide and 50 people and make an effective tour, let alone in two languages. Our guide was difficult to hear because of the group size. Lunch was fine; gastronomic means you get a slightly different entree along with wine, water and coffee. It was fine, but you could easily go to a local restaurant in Segovia; there are many. There is a lot to see in Segovia, so the group size should be small enough to cover things adequately. Also, there is a lot of walking. The tour operator really needs to limit group size to 25. The aqueduct, the cathedral and Alcazar all interesting, but we were very rushed.

This was a wonderful trip but a very disappointing lunch. There was no obvious difference between our gourmet lunch and the tourist lunch. Everything the same, but we paid more!

The guide and driver handled a traffic jam very well by changing the order of the trip.

These are two cities with so much history. Avila was like a place from a child's storybook.

The sights were magnificent. The bus was clean and comfortable. The guide was a bit too soft spoken and spoke in a slow monotonous tone. The tourist lunch at Segovia was excellent, although wine was not included. However, a glass was only 2 euros additional. The description of the lunch option should be more clear as to the difference between the tourist and the gastronomic and what is included in each.

The sights were definitely worth seeing. But there was not enough time at Avila; we could have spent more time exploring the walled city. Segovia was fascinating, and so was the Alcazar. There was only one problem with the guide: Although he spoke English well, he only ever gave a very brief version of the Spanish because he also gave a translation in Italian, which was the same length as the Spanish. It was a waste of time waiting for him to give the same spiel in English. The bus was comfortable, and I do recommend that people take this trip for the history and sights alone. There were plenty of places to eat lunch in Segovia, with time to explore, if you didn't do the lunch.

The quality of the tour is very high, and it entails a lot of walking at a reasonable pace. If I had to do it over again, though, I would do the two-day tour to the same destination. You only get to see the very highlights in a day - and there's so much more to see. Also, on this particular tour, only order the tour with lunch if you're not feeling confident enough to go off on your own. The food was of good quality, but I could have ordered exactly what I wanted on my own and spent less money.

We had a knowledgeable guide, and a clean and comfortable bus. Lunch was not great, but I've had far worse.

The sightseeing was good, but I wished we could cover more areas of the two cities. The food was fantastic.

There is no way we would have seen these two cities without a tour and we really wanted to see some of medieval Spain, not just big cities. It would've been difficult to do this in a day on my own by train or even in a car as parking looks like a real challenge and getting around these cities to find the sights has to be time consuming if you aren't familiar with them. Or tour guide didn't seem very friendly at first but she warmed up eventually. She was very knowledgeable and spoke beautiful Spanish and English. We got the gastronomic meal option and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and portions. We were even offered seconds. The meal afforded us the opportunity to get to know some of the other people on the tour, all from different countries than us. We are glad we booked this tour.
