Our tour guide Enrique has a rich knowledge of the city as well as the hidden gems amongst the many tapas outlets. He even led us to the tapa outlet that first offered gambas al ajillo! I highly recommend this tour and of course Enrique
Jaime was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly. Was a great tour to get some of the story of the wine's regions
We had such a fun time on this tour! We booked the Tapas tour for our first night in Madrid and it was a great introduction to Spanish Tapas and how everything works. We tasted some amazing food and our host, Enrique was wonderful! He really did a fantastic job. We would definitely recommend this tour. Was a great experience and we felt worth the price.
Alejandro was an excellent guide and took us to some great bars to sample many types of wines and beers!
This was a lot of fun. We had a great group of people and Enriquez, our guide was excellent. There was a great selection of food to try, terrific wines and superb company! All in all it was an outstanding evening.
Great guide who took us to local places and spoiled us with good wine, or specialty beer if you asked for it. A great introduction to Madrid and very minimal walking involved.
Was an amazing experience. Ismael, our guide was great!! He brought us to 5 different Tapas bars. Each one better than the next. He was full of fun information and was able to modify foods for my wife who has some food intolerances. Everyone enjoyed. Only 5 people in our group which made it very comfortable and easy to talk. I recommend this to everone!
I booked the Madrid Tapas and Wine-Tasting Tour through Viator, which turned out to be provided by a local tour company. I was traveling alone, and this was one of my favorite activities in Madrid. There were only six people in our group, including our excellent guide Enrique. We met at 7:30 at Plaza Santa Ana and visited four spots, ending up in Plaza Mayor. Enrique tailored the evening to what the group wanted in terms of wine, food, and history. We enjoyed about ten different tapas plus the free tapas some places provided with our drinks, such as Iberian ham, sautéed baby shrimp in garlic, a spinach/egg dish, fried cuttlefish, eggplant with tomato and honey sauces, battered fried shrimp, beef roulade, chocolate truffles, and more. The dishes were paired with wonderful wines chosen by Enrique, and he does know wines! We all had plenty to eat, and by the end of the evening I felt like I had made new friends. Among our group was a 10-year-old girl, who was delightful to have along. Enrique knew how to include her in conversation, dishes, and drinks in a way that pleased everyone. I would highly recommend the tour company to anyone families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a fun and memorable experience in Madrid!
We had such a great time! Our guide was knowledgeable about the city and the food and wines of Spain. Some of the tapas places were better than others- my favorite was La Casa del Abuelo. If I had more time in town, I would have gone there every day for the garlic shrimp! Definitely worth the tour.
By far the best food tour I've done in Europe. Drinks, food and information flowed freely. Taken by a local tour guide he took us to all his favourite food and drink places, some you would never visit as a tourist. We were well satisfied with plethora of food and drink provided. Highly recommended.
If you do one tour in Madrid, do this one. We had a great time, a great guide and a wonderful evening. Who knew there were so many different types of Tapas and that every restaurant we visited would be so unique--not different variations of the same thing, but totally different types of foods. Some of the Tapas places can be crowded and standing room only, so keep this in mind. Others you will have a chance to sit down and be more relaxed. We would never have found these on our own and might have left Madrid with the tourist experience of trying Tapas in the tourist areas. Many of the ones we visited on this tour were off the beaten path. Kinds of places the locals eat at. A great evening. Would recommend highly.
Outstanding! Our tour guide Ismael was 5 stars - we thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Super Tour. Enrique, Best Guide. Super Time, Enjoyed this company. Very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour.
Best Tapas Tour we have been on. Enrique was the best guide, very knowledgeable and Super Company. We really enjoyed our time with him and would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Art and Isabella Morrell
This was the best way to start our trip to Spain! The guide was awesome, he knew just where to go for the best experience. Food was amazing and wine was even better! Five stars all the way!!
This tour was really nice! The different types of Tapas we had were delicious and the tour guide, who was very nice and knowledgable about wines and tapas, was pretty amazing in taking us to local tapas places that we wouldn't have been able to go to on our own.
Best way to get acclimated to the city. Personal touch was great and you really learned a lot on the tour.
I am so so glad that I signed up for this tour! I wasn't really sure what to expect at first but my expectations were blown away and it ended up being one of my favorite activities throughout my trip to Spain. Our tour guide was extremely friendly, personable and knowledgable, and I was impressed by his ability to pick and choose a variety of wines and tapas from different places, based on our initial preferences and reactions to what he chose for us. We ended up going to 5 different tapas bars, each one different from the next but all with amazing food! Our tour guide gave us a lot of background information behind the origins of the wine and what exactly the food was, which was very interesting. If anything, I wish I had gone on this tour earlier in the trip so I could've gone to more authentic tapas bars rather than the more tourist-y places that you're more likely to try just from wandering around on your own. Overall I would highly recommend going on this wine and tapas tour- you won't regret it!
Great tour guides! Super knowledgeable about the wine and food. Ordered tons of great stuff we wouldn't have ordered on our own. Got in an extra stop and improvised a bit based on our interests. Great way to see the city.
this was better than i was expecting our guide was lovely very knowlegable and took us to some fab bars the vino tinto was exceptional, he asked us what we liked then chose a few, with great results,, there was more than enough food and i tried all sorts of new foods most i liked some i didn't so a perfect mix, would definately do it again, met some lovely people
My husband and I did this tour first, and then our young adult sons did it a week later. We all agreed that we totally enjoyed it! Ishmael was the leader for both groups, and he was just great. Very knowledgeable about local history and culture and attentive to the needs of participants. Both groups were made up of less than 15 people, representing a wide age-range and a variety of countries. We visited four unique tapas bars and had plenty of food and drink in the process. Well paced and lots of fun. Highly recommend!!
