I live in a major U.S. city, and am familiar with how public transit works. Madrid has the cleanest and most efficient mass tansit system I've ever seen. Getting the pass for my trip was the best thing I could have done . . . definitely beats renting a car!

This is worth every penny. Just slide the pass through the turnstile and go - easy!

Good value, saved us money as it was a cheaper way of getting to Toledo by bus and also included all metro for the day.

I definitely recommend this as it gave me good value. Each trip individually is one Euro so you can figure out if it's a good value for you. Sites seemed to be clustered together, but there are several clusters around the city Puerta del Sol, Plaza Espana, La Latina, Atocha, etc. and the metro is the easiest and fastest way to reach the clusters. Stay near Puerta del Sol if you're planning on using the metro as the Sol station is the most centrally located hub with most of the lines that you will need and it's only a couple of stops from there to connect to any of the other lines. By the way, to pick up either Madrid Card or the Tourist Pass in the airport, you must take a ridiculously long hike from your arrival door to the office in the airport, and a second ridiculously long hike back to somewhere where you can catch a cab.

Absolutely worth it! Buses are always passing by, so you don't have to wait long times, and they keep running until midnight!

Don't have to dig for change & if you happen to get lost, you just hop on another bus and you'll on your way. Wish you could pick up at airport so you could use it when you arrive.

Other than having to bring the voucher, the Pass is an amazing tool to have. It provides you with easy access to Madrid's Metros, which includes busand train services. With the pass, it is so easy getting from one place to another within the city. It is also easy to get from Madrid to Toledo, San Lorenzo De Escorial. However, ensure that you get the Pass for T Zone which is more worthy. My family and I actually did an estimate and found that if you were to buy the transportation tickets individually, they would cost much more. You can virtually hop on and off the Metro as many times as you like, all within the validity of the Pass. What is amazing is, the Metro, bus stands and train services are all interconnected and mostly underground. you do not even have to come out of the station and brave the cold to get to another Metro line. After a short while of figuring out the route, you will be a pro in no time. All travel routes for the Metro is clearly displayed. Of course, a knowledge of a few Spanish word will go a long way. Never forget yr 'gracias' and greetings of good morning 'buenas dias'. I also suggest that you collect yr Pass at Plaza Mayor in central Madrid. The plaza itself is a sight to behold. There is also cafe serving the best paella and churros, which we discovered by chance and also made a few friends in the cafe to warrant our continued patronage until we left. If you don't have the pass, you are missing a lot.

I highly recommend getting metro passes if you plan to ride more than a few times a day, we got the 3 day passes which served us well. The airport pickup is near Terminal 2, just above the airport Metro Station, so it can be a quick way to grab and go, no need to exchange or fumble for currency.

The two-day travel pass was more expensive than regular Metro and bus or train fares. We could not use the pass to go to Segovia or for the train to Toledo - these are very important details as the train only takes 30 minutes to either site. The high speed train was only 9.45 euros round trip to Segovia and to Toledo. The metro has a 10 trip saver that does not expire and goes anywhere the Metro goes, including to/from the airport.

Did not use this pass so it ended up being a waste of money. Our fault we over bought thinking we would need it. Actually with the Madrid card and the hop on hop off buses included you don't need to have the local card unless you plan to do a lot of sight seeing.
