The trip was good. On one of the buses we had great difficulty making the headphones work. Also on the first bus the conductor had not come across your voucher before and would not accept it. He did however allow us to ride. When we got to the base your voucher was accepted.

Very convenient. Saw most of the important sights!

It was a fun and easy way to tour. But, the online registration system should be adapted to more easily accommodate large groups.

This is the only way to see most of the city in a short amount of time. Very good and informative.

I was with a group of 18 and we had a great time on the bus.

Worth doing but weather on 1st day was bitterly cold with very strong winds but plenty of buses. Second day over 30 minute wait for bus which was hopelessly overcrowded, heavy traffic which caused delays sadly cost us valuable time in getting to where we wanted. We only had 3 hours on 2nd day before having to leave for airport, so the loss of time was important.

The first day conductor accepted our voucher and gave us our ticket. On the second day, the conductor took a fare because the ticket only stated one day! I did not have the voucher on the second day.

We generally found the bus tour worthwhile, but many of the headphone connections did not work properly. We had to move from seat to seat until we found some that worked.

It was OK, but could have been better

There are not enough buses running to handle the amount of people waiting to get on. For the most popular line, a wait could be up to 25 minutes for a seat on the bus. The drivers and guides are rude and unwilling to answer questions. The Metro would be better.

Reviewed by: Anonymous, United States, May 2007 Note from Viator: Thanks for your feedback, and we apologize for your lackluster experience. We are working with the tour operator to increase the number of buses on the busiest routes, especially on peak weekends.

The multi-language audio is a good concept, however, the descriptions were often late, or well after we had passed the item being described. Referencing the stops which interlace with the other route, on the audio is helpful.

As read in previous reviews, the bus attendants don't seem to all recognize the Viator vouchers. We boarded the bus for the first time near Plaza Major and were told they were not acceptable and had to be exchanged for tickets at the Prado. We were put out at the next stop. After a walk of over a mile we made it to the Prado stop only to be told that the previous bus was wrong, and the voucher WAS acceptable. Thanks for the exercise and wasted time! Then the next 4 buses red route were completely overloaded so we went to a blue route stop nearby and finally got on a bus 'legally'.

There are multilingual earbuds on the bus describing what points of interest along the route. This was the only tour package we purchased for Spain that we felt a bit bad about. However, for using the bus as cheap transportation, we felt it was worth it despite the voucher confusion and overcrowded buses.

Reviewed by: Ken B, United States, May 2007 Note from Viator: Thanks for your note. We've had a few similar complaints about drivers not immediately recognizing the vouchers. We have been in contact with the local operator and they are committed to making sure each and every driver recognizes the Voucher the first time! Thanks again for your feedback, it helps us to make sure that all travelers have a great experience.

For someone who wants to fit in a lot of the sights of Madrid in a short time this tour is ideal. There were plenty of buses and friendly staff onboard. My only complaint is the quality of the sound system many of the sockets and controls were damaged. Trying to find a working system detracted from the enjoyment of the tour.

Unfortunately, the day we took the tour was the day that the timetable and pickup points changed. All in all it was not well coordinated and a very frustrating experience given that the schedule changed.

Buses were totally crowded. You had to wait sometimes for four and five buses to pass. Schedule too short should run until later.

I do not recommend. There is no live tour guide, just a recording that plays when you reach certain spots. The headphone plug-ins do not work for all seats.
