We booked a small group tour but because nobody else showed up, the four of us friends enjoyed a private tour with our guide, Marta. We weren't that interested in the winery so we spent the entire day in Toledo instead. The gastronomic lunch of roast lamb was excellent. Toledo deserves a full day. The Cathedral is spectacular and the views stunning. Marta spoke beautiful English, was knowledgeable, funny and a pleasure to be with. She made the day special.

The guide was great, I wish the small group would have been less than 15 pp not 20 pp. the tour was great wish I had done full day in Toledo as there is so much see and do. Include the zip line across the river would have been great
We were extremely fortunate because we were the only ones who showed up for this small group tour, so we ended up with a private tour. Our guide, Marta, was wonderful. So smart, passionate and informative and we learned so much about the history of this interesting Spanish city. We also really enjoyed the visit to the vineyard/winery and the accompanying wine tasting. I highly recommend this tour which I think would've been equally as good if there were a few other people in the group.
Small English speaking only group of 14 traveling in small coach was extremely comfortable. Our guide Jorge did a great job providing a historical background of the Lamancha region and Toledo in particular. Walking Toledo was a little challenging in 100 degree F heat, but guide was patiently accommodating to the group's speed. Despite the weather, Toledo was very interesting and the interior of the Cathedral must not be missed. In my opinion, equally spectacular as St. Peter's in Rome. Did lunch on our own at Scorpion Bar/Grill. Much cheaper than lunch option and food was wonderful. Our teen regrets not doing the zipline across the river, something to consider for others. Wine tasting was basic vineyard tour followed by 3 wine tastings and opportunity to purchase. Tour was nice finish to the day and did not limit what we needed to see in Toledo. Highly recommend.
Great tour - the guide was wonderful, informative....small group, winetasting....couldn't have been better.
This tour was amazing! Great tour guide!
Winery host and tour was incredible !
Great tour with great guide. Toledo is beautiful and a must! Winery and wine tasting was great! I'll do the tour again and again!
Loved the entire tour! The tour guide was excellent, and the Wine Tasting was superb! Do this tour if you can!
I have been to Toledo many times and I am a huge fan of the city. Touring with a private guide was a great choice. The town was celebrating the feast of Corpus Chrisi, which added a new dimension to the tour. The wine and cheese stop at very charming place added to a wonderful day.
Excellent trip. A small group of 6 people meant we had plenty of time to look around and Marta our guide answered all of our questions. I suppose the only thing that would have made it better would have been a short talk about Madrid as we were leaving, giving us a bit more insight into the city. But Marta covered Toledo very well and the wine tasting by Jorge afterwards was very generous. We also got lucky as the people we were travelling with were a very nice.
Excellent tour! The small group is definitely the preferred way to go when visiting Toledo. Also, the winery visit exceeded our expectations because we were able to get a nice overview of the wine-making process and a substantial tasting of 3 of their wines.
The small group tour was very enjoyable. I would recommend spending more time in town wandering around rather than going to the optional lunch.
the tour guide was very informative and made the city that much more interesting by describing the unique history of it
We enjoyed this tour because is was only 8 people in a smaller vehicle than the large tours where you cannot hear the guide. Marta was a very good tour guide and provided information on the ride to Toledo, and then provided plenty of information about the beautiful city on a hill and the three cultures. She answered many questions. We paid for the lunch, but it was not as good a value as we expected, which is why I gave four and not five stars. having the lunch also means no time to further explore the city apart from the tour. The winery visit took us to another landscape and the winemaker was really wonderful explaining the process by which the winery utilizes local grapes to create very tasty wine. We would recommend the tour highly as a day trip outside of Madrid!
This was a very good tour. I did not give it a 5 because they wasted a big bus on 9 people. Otherwise it was a great tour.
This was a great tour. The history of Toledo was great, the tour guide was knowledgable and informative, and the winery was absolutely fantastic. There was no pressure to buy anything so it was not like many tours we have been on previously where the tour guides get kickbacks from the shops. Would definitely recommend. Jorge at the winery was also fantastic and responsive to a problem with me being overcharged on my purchase after the tour was over. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the optional "gastronomic lunch" was just a typical tourist lunch with more than a hundred tourists in the restaurant with the same dish. I would definitely do this again but would opt to find my own lunch. Highly recommend!
Skip the lunch the location was hilltop so the view was wonderful, but the food was way overpriced and just mass produced for the tourists. There must have been at least 200 people, all off of tour buses, in this restaurant. A couple that was travelling in our group hadn't ordered the lunch as part of the booking but decided at lunch time to share one order and it was the right call because there was enough food for two, and they saved considerably by paying directly rather than as part of the tour. Toledo was worth seeing as there is so much history there, but our guide was not very engaged. She was constantly texting on her phone, and seldom provided any information when we were on the bus, she just focused on her phone. The choice of winery was odd....it was down a long narrow road several kilometres and since it had rained, at one point we almost got stuck.
For the same price you can go by yourself and have triple the wine you drink and get to know the city better. It was a nice trip but too expensive for what you get.
