This tour was excellent! We started out with a Spanish tour guide who stayed with us the entire trip and then in morocco we had a Moroccan tour guide. The only bad thing is that the conformation we received from Viator said we leave at 5am but the tour really left at 6am. We waited for 1 and 1/2!
It was really a fantastic day tour to another country accross the Spanish cost. We had been there for 5 nights, but my wife commented after Tangier tour that her holiday is fulfilled. Company's coach collected us early in the morning from our hotel. Rafael and Hassan both were excellent as guide especially Hassan the way he was interpreting the history. We had a three course lunch on the company's cost. Thanks viator for that. On our way back to Malaga we enjoyed the stanning beauty of Costa Del Sol, the beaches and the nice nice hotels along the cost.
Wonderful trip! Excellent execution, especially when one considers the coordination required across two countries and two continents with two bus trips and a ferry crossing. Tour guides were highly knowledgeable and sensitive and patient. Despite the tenacity of the Tangier vendors, to be escorted through the narrow and picturesque streets of inner Tangier was far more than I had ever hoped. My only regret is that on the return bus trip, we were not allowed to stop for just 10 to 15 minutes for photos of both coasts, the Mediterranean and Gibraltar, That withstanding, the tour was simply wonderful.
We had the best tourist guides on this trip. Our guide from Malaga to Tangier was Pedro (Peter) he made the transfer through immigration to and from Morocco as smooth as possible. The other guide in Tangier was also great explaining all the history and sites. One tip to future travelers, buy souvenirs at the first stop of the bus, at the camel ride. At this stop you won't be have too many locals bothering you with their merchandise and you will be able to choose whatever you want. Souvenirs from vendors at this point are good and with some haggling you may bring the price down. Later on and, at the market the locals will make you crazy trying to sell you things to the point that you won't feel buying anything. Overall I highly recommend this trip.
The tour guide was fantastically knowledgeable and really helped us with our questions on a very thorough manner.
The coach transportation, ferry ride and hastle free pass through customs in Tarrifa and Tangier were GREAT; thanks to our guide and driver. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and Moroccan music, A portion of the shopping was staged, hand woven beautiful carpets and tea and cosmetics; though interesting. We could have used more time to shop in the Medina. The snake charmer was enjoyable, I thoroughly loved the camel ride (for one euro). The Caves of Hurcules were amazing. There was so much to see! Our guide was wonderful gave us a lot of history and we felt very safe.
Wow, what a fun day! First of all, really appreciated the fact that they picked us up at our hotel, rather than having to cab in to Malaga at 5 AM! (we were staying between Feuengiola and Marbella) Bus very comfortable and we were well taken care of throughout the ferry ride and the whole tour. Saw lots of interesting sites, had just enough free time for shopping, wonderful Moroccan lunch. We were delayed getting on the ferry due to the King being down by the dock, but our tour guide did his utmost to get us on the ferry safely, as soon as the local guards allowed us by. It's a really long day, but we enjoyed every minute.
A fantastic tour. Very well organized. Great lunch. Plenty of time for shopping. Ride along the Barbary Coast was an added treat. Loved it.
LOVED IT, it was the best of the 3 tours we went on. Highly satisfied!!!
Exciting journey, perfectly organized.Following our charming and knowledgeable guides we were able to experience the beauty and spirit of Morocco.Unforgetable adventure.Thank you from my heart.
Our Spanish guide, paco, was excellent. He was highly knowledgable, funny, and fluent in at least 3 languages making it a great experience for everyone. Once we arrived in morocco we then were handed over to our local guide, hasan, who again was a great host, highly knowledgable and looked after everyone very well making the day very enjoyable. The tour gives a very good insight into tangier and the traditional Moroccan lunch is very good, with traditional music and dancing at the same time. After looking at the old town and having had lunch, it's then the shopping part of the tour where gorgeous Moroccan hand made carpets are displayed to the group, and a display of Moroccan made oils, beauty products, and spices, where obviously you have chance to purchase and "negotiate" in a traditional Moroccan way afterwards. Following this we then went on a coach a bit further in land to see more of morocco where we all got the chance to ride a camel for a euro each, before heading back to the ferry where were left hasan, and were passed back to our Spanish guide paco, who assisted us back. If I have one criticism it is that we joined the coach at the first pick up point in malaga as well as a few others. The pick up point was just out of the centre and non of us were sure if we at the right place as the only land mark was a small Barclays Bank branch. I think it would be better to have the pick up point at a more central location next to a major land mark. This is a very small niggling point though and I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone. Just be aware it is a long day and you will be walking a fair bit.
This was a wonderful tour. The tour bus picked us up right across the street from our hotel instead of us having to travel from Mijas into Malaga. The tour director Pedro spoke perfect english and was very informative. He guided us through customs both coming and going with no hassel. The tour itself was just as described. We arrived in Tangiers by ferry, was met by our Moroccan tour guide and ushered onto a large comfortable bus. We were driven around the city until we arrived at the Old Town part of the city. We had a walking tour and then had a great lunch that consisted of soup, shish-ka-bob, couscous with chicken, desert and mint tea. We were then taken to a rug factory and given a demonstration of the different rugs. There was no pressure to buy anything. The factory consisted of several floors with the first two being pottery, jewelry, etc. After the rug presentation we were given time to shop all floors. We were taken to a spice factory with another demonstration and no pressure to buy. After that we were given about 40 minutes to roam in a town square with shops and outside vendors. By outside vendors I am referrering to the men who had followed us all through out this tour with their wares of jewelry, wooden camels, pottery, mirrors, etc. I am from NYC and have travelled enought to other placed where street vendors do not bother me. I simply say "NO" or just ignore them. For some people this can be annoying because they are very persistant, but not harmful. I purchased two beautiful mirrors, a decorative bowl and some jewelry from these street vendors at good priced after much bargaining. Cheaper then in the shops. We had stops at a snake charmer, camel rides and the Caves of Hercules, which were all fun and beautiful. Many took a camel ride for one euro, including my husband. We were taken back to the ferry in plenty of time for the ride back to Tarifa and our journey back to our hotel. Lots of fun had by all and a good tour to take.
Definitely worth it! Not the most interesting city but the stops at the apothecary and rug shos were awesome and well-selected. Grest insight into culture for the day. Be very wary of persistant street vendors. Lunch was amazing.
Well worth the long day. Take a cold drink on bus though. Saw plenty of the sights. Also had plenty of time to shop . Don't be put off by the sellers, we found it fun and all part of the experience . Had excellent guide on coach and in Tangiers. Daughter bought a rug...loads of haggling.great fun:-D
Well planned... fabulous guides. Just the right amount of time at each location. Highly recommended!
I can not say enough about this tour. We loved every minute of it even though the day started in the pouring rain. It eventually cleared up later and so upon our return we could get pictures. The guide was good and the whole Morocco experience was memorable . We loved riding the camels and visiting the old city. The restaurant was fantastic with the décor and musicians. We loved it. The Carpet factory was memorable with the presentation of how they are made. The tour was well organized and took in the perfect things of the city. We bought a carpet and were very excited that there was a tour that helped us experience a bit of morocco. Very well done.
It was a great day. We felt like we hit all the highlights and our guide kept everyone on track with our schedule. It was a fascinating tour and one we'll never forget.
Not sure why all the bad reviews about this tour. This is the best tour we have ever taken!!!! Everything was provided as promised, ontime and more. The tour guides in Morocco were excellent, and we had plenty of time for shopping on our own We will definately use Viator again.
Great trip! Most certainly recommend. Be prepared for the many locals trying to sell you stuff. The guide in Tangier was excellent. Would have liked more time to shop with the locals.
A great experience! Besides the interesting places, the tour guide was very informed and pleasant to be with.
very good trip! well organized. although it was only short trip and we were rushing from one spot to another it was really worth going and explore a bit of different culture.
Wonderful journey while allowing us to go on the American continent. The cave of Hercules is one thing you must see.
