the tour was really enjoyable, the guide very knowledgeable and patient with us, the lunch delicious in a very comfortable setting, having been in the souks independently, felt much more comfortable with the guide, a great day out and very good value for money.
With this tour you visit nearly all there is to see in Marrakech, with a very knowledgable guide. Lunch was superb.
The guide was lovely, he was very witty and paced the tour well!
I found the booking procedures annoying though as I'd put all my hotel detail online and paid in full and then found you have to reconfirm again?? What's the point? Who pays for a tour, picks a date and provides hotel details twice?
A great stroll around the interesting sights of bustling Marrakech. A very enjoyable day out.
Very informative and it was great getting in amongst the locals but it wasn't clear from the reference how much walking was involved. I'd have brought along a second pair of shoes if I'd known. It would be tiring for older people and there's no way of opting out and returning to the hotel half way. It should be called the Marrakech Walking Discovery tour.
A long tour day but with an interesting English speaking guide who covered the main areas of the city.
If you only have a couple of days in marrakech it's better to get a tour as its a not big, but a confusing city, especially the souks which you can get lost at easily. For the money I guess it's ok for what we saw, but if you have time in marrakech you could do it yourself cheaper and its all in the walking distance to be fair. It does seem staged when you visit the pharmacy to get some Argan oil so I just hope it's a real thing and not a fake one like many of them sell in the souks.
Fantastic way to get your bearings around the City and the Medina. Guide was very knowledgeable and spoke good English.
The tour included so much of Marrakech. While the sights were fantastic, and the lunch was really good, there were a couple of 'hard-sell' shopping opportunities that could have been left out. It was a really long day, and being dragged into carpet shops and traditional pharmacies to be pressured to buy stuff was just unnecessary and spoilt an otherwise great tour. There's also a fine line between explaining about the local religion and customs and 'preaching'. Ditch the shopping 'opportunities' and the tour would have been 5 star.
I would not recommend this tour, especially not for independent travellers. The group was very large and was comprised almost exclusively of package tourists, who didn’t seem to have spent very much time outside the hotel aside from this tour. The main tour guide appeared quite arrogant, including in his responses to some people’s questions about the timing of the tour group. Our lunch was very average and took place in a large room in a restaurant that seemed to be dominated by other package tours. The afternoon session was basically an extended sales pitch from a Moroccan herbalist store about which of their products we should buy; followed by an optional visit to a handicrafts store. The one saving grace was the second tour guide, who was a lovely and very knowledgeable man. I learned a few things in the morning, but on the whole, it really felt like an impersonal, lowest common denominator, mass-produced experience.
The tour was very comprehensive and took in a lot of Marrakesh's main sights. The local guides English was good and he clearly explained things. Door to door it was a 10 hour day so wear some comfy shoes! But if you want to get to see Marrakesh without the stress this is a good tour. D and G (London)
For those who are unsure to wander the souks and medina alone, this is the perfect tour for you to familiarise yourself with the place!
We covered so much, had lunch at an AMAZING restaurant where an Alfred Hitcock movie was filmed and covered so much of Marrakech's top 10 places of interest.
