The trip was absolutely brilliant, the tour guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend it!
Amazing day with guide Mohommad and 2 others. Fantastic scenery..many excellent stops for pictures
Peaceful lunch in Berber home.
Fantastic day! Very much recommend this!
The tour was fantastic and the best bit of our whole trip to Marrakech. Being in such a small group (4 people) made the tour seem more personal. Our guide was really knowledge and a pleasure to spend the day with. I couldn't recommend this trip highly enough.
The early pick-up from the hotel 8am took us to the Ourika Valley before the hordes arrived so we got to the falls easily. Traffic would make later visits less enjoyable and the trek along the river more hazardous. The villagers operate a collective to sell goods so there was no high pressure selling from individual shops. The second leg into the Oukaimeden valley was spectacular along narrow winding roads to a very isolated peaceful Berber village for lunch - one table set for 6 on a roof-top overlooking the valley. Stunning. The food tasted great. The trip was completed with a trip to the Asni valley but the highlight was the Oukaimeden visit. A great day out escorted by our guide Joachim who ensured there were lots of photo stops.
My girlfriend and I had a great time on this tour! The three valleys are beautiful and their landscapes are quite different, so it's worth seeing all three as opposed to just the Ourika Valley. Lunch at the Berber Village was amazing. We sat on the roof of the home on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed the best tajine of our trip. Would highly recommend this tour, but maybe skip the Takerkoust Lake. It's beautiful, but by the time we finished lunch we were exhausted and ready to go back to Marrakech.
Of note, the description mentions that you will be dining with a local family in the Berber village. This is not the case. They make a delicious meal for you to eat, but they serve you as opposed to eating with you.
I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Marrakech. Shakeeb sp? our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun.. His English was excellent! If the only thing we did on this tour was have lunch in the Berber home it still would have been worth the price. The next time I visit Marrakech I plan on doing another tour or two with Viator.. Excellent!
Best tour ever! Amazing scenery! We reached 6000 ft high! The guide,Abdul was so nice and explained everything. The hike part was tough and recommend good footwear. The only drawback was I felt the lunch was a bit expensive at 150DH each. View was great at the Berber house and food was good.
We had a great day visiting the valleys in the Atlas mountains. Our guide, Abdul, was very friendly and went to great lengths to show us the best places in the area. He was happy to stop along the way for us to take in the views and take photos. An amazing experience that we would highly recommend! One thing that could be improved is the communication with the agent, who only informed us a day before the tour about the pick-up place and time after I had to contact them and enquire about it. It would be much better, if they were a bit more proactive...
Very very, wonderful tour. Very personal and a fantastic tour guide, saw the beautiful mountains, including a wonderful meal made just for us. This was amazing a true taste of Moroccan cuisine full of flavours, and to top it all off it was in a beautiful location, high up in the mountains in a tiny village. A truly real authentic experience. A special thank you to tour guide Berber Abdul who made this experience just that extra special.
Absolutely fantastic. After a day in the madness of the medina, escaping the city walls was brilliant. Well guided trip, the guide was the best I've ever had, and the sights are simply jawdropping. You simply MUST do this trip.
I highly recommend this trip for everyone. We had just three days in Marrakech and this trip took up one full day. Abdul, our guide, was awesome. He was very friendly, kind, and informative. We also felt very safe with him. He took us to a great spot to ride camels, and the people there were also very nice! I highly encourage to visit the waterfalls, the views were breathtaking. I also highly recommend eating lunch as well. The food was very fresh, organic, and made from scratch. The women making the food had been preparing for over three hours. The entire trip was an unreal experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Definitely request Abdul as your guide, he was so great!
The sights were amazing. I loved the hike up through the mountains and really enjoyed meeting the local women who made the almond paste and butter. Then we got to try some of their hard work and even purchased some. We visited the Berber villages and lunch was extra, but was very worth the 15 Euros because I got to taste a traditional 4 course meal. We ended the experience checking out Takerkoust Lake. Was a great experience and fascinating day.
Excellent trip. Plenty of snow in mountains. Waterfalls everywhere with melting snow. We were concerned about eating in a Berber household but shouldn't have been as the food was very good. In fact it was the best we've had. The guide was very good and knowledgeable. I suspect that we passed and waved at most of his relatives on route. The stop at the cooperative was enjoyable and we hope the purchases we made live up to the recommendations. Highly recommend this trip especially at this time of year before the roads and villages get too busy. George and Liz
This trip was absolutely way more than I expected. Great hiking, opportunity to ride a camel, gorgeous waterfalls, amazing lunch with a million dollar view, and the best tour guide of all time. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had while traveling abroad. I highly recommend this trip to everyone.
This is a must do trip when visiting Marrakech..our guide Berber Abdul was great .very knowledg and took his time explaining the sites..the waterfall is beautiful, however wear comfortable shoes preferably hiking boots or similar as it is a hike up the rocks to get there and a bit of a workout but it's worth it...dinner at Berber house was a perfect ending...delicious food with a lovely scenery high in the mountains
Without a doubt the highlight of our trip so far. The tour exceeded our expectations and was well worth the price.
The day was long albeit interesting throughout thanks to our fantastic tour guide Mustafa who was funny and informative during our trip.
The three valleys are beautiful with the landscape changing through each one with amazing views of the Atlas mountains. Mustafa was only too willing to stop when we requested to take photos at points along the way.
The argan oil visit was interesting; we did not feel pressured at all to buy anything.
The trip to the waterfalls was a extremely fun experience; without a doubt you need a guide as the route is very tricky and involves some level of fitness and courage.
Our meal in the berber house had an incredible setting of the mountains; our group could not believe how beautiful it was. And for the price you get a lot of food!
We completed our trip with a visit to plateu kiki which was a beautiful clear blue.
I'm not usually one to write reviews but this was such a good tour. Even when my friend left her coat in the 4x4 the company kindly dropped it off the next day.
Absolutely worth the trip! Great guide and fantastic landscapes.
Excellent day trip from Marrakech. I really enjoyed the landscape and the photo opportunities we had. Travelling in February during the winter was a plus as the top of the mountains were covered with snow. The lunch was AMAZING. I think the tour is very expensive, not sure I would do it if I was on a budget even more after adding the extras, such as lunch, lake visit and guide to the waterfall. However, it was an amazing experience and they were very flexible with our arrangements.
The walk to the waterfall was a highlight, and the berber house for lunch was amazing - on a rooftop overlooking a valley and the view was breathtaking. Easily worth the money.
The day a relaxing break from the hectic city center. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the trip an experience we will never forget.
We were very impressed by the driver who was charming, well informed and very tolerant of our stops en route. Predictably he took us places where you were encouraged to learn about the local culture (very interesting) but then be invited to buy local produce - however we didn't feel under any pressure to buy. Lunch was in a tucked away place in a Berber's home - whilst on the chilly side, the food was delicious, with the tagine having been prepared on charcoal. Certainly when we returned to Marrakech and visited the Berber museum in the 'Yves St Laurant' gardens, we had a rich insight into the local culture and history. We didn't take the option of visiting the lakes since by the end of the day we felt we had seen a good variety of places. If you do this trip do take sensible walking shoes. The walk to the waterfall is worth while but is a little steep in places.
