Our excellent English-major guide provided a personalized tour that fully met the sightseeing description and then some. If in Marseilles for several days, a worthwhile half-day side trip.
The guide was excellent and had a lot of local knowledge about Marseille and Provence in general.
One of the best tours we've been on. Great tour guide. Coverage was really good, especially being taken up to the church with the view over Marseille and down to the fishing village at the end of the road (very scenic). Guide also deviated to show one of the people something they particularly requested, but didn't make the tour run late or miss anything out. Well worth doing!
Great guide, wonderful tour of the Calanques and visit in Cassis.
My daughter and I enjoyed our tour. The guide who picked us up and drove us to Cassis was great. The guide on the boat ride did not speak in English, but instead handed us a piece of paper in English for us to read. The other 6 on the boat spoke another language, so I think he spoke in French. But that did not bother us, since we went mainly to enjoy the sights. Would have liked to see 2 more inlets. He drove us into 3. It was a gorgeous day, and the town was quaint. This was my 3rd Viator tour. I did 2 in Italy. You are very reliable, and I thank you!
Exploring the Calanques is really exciting, as each inlet is more spectacular than the last. The water is set against steep cliffs, with stunning beaches tucked into the inlets. Stunning, highly recommended.
Gaille the guide was terrific and we would recommend her. The tour was very enjoyable and showed us jusgt what we wanted. Our only criticism is the the pickup and drop off at the Radisson Blu is not in a very convenient place and would be better nearer a train station.
Vanessa did a nice job of adapting the itinerary once we learned it would cover things in Marseille we'd seen with a Rick Steves tour that ended just the day before. We particularly enjoyed an impromptu visit to "the end of the world," and spending more time in Cassis than originally planned. Well done.
It was nice although the cruise trip was on our own. The conductor hand us a flyer with a picture of the road to navigate but he did not explain us what part of that diagram we were seeing. It was really short, the guide Mark, in the other hand was really nice and polite he was always concern about our comfort. He gave us references of other paces to visit.
The boat trip was great with a stunning coast line, magnificent inlets with clear blue water.cassis was very picturesque and the view above cap canaille was breathtaking. I would have liked to have known how many inlets we were to see. We saw 3 out of 9..
Loved our driver-tour guide (Virginia) and the scenery and sites were fabulous. Great for a couple or very small group. Only complaint was the inability to confirm/reach the local company in time to secure transportation from the port (we were on a cruise) rather than meeting in Marseille.
The guide was lovely and informative. Cassis and the surrounds were amazing. However for the price we maybe had higher expectations. In Marseille we only went to the Notre Dame Cathedral, not to anywhere else, and we were surprised to just be dropped off in Cassis and told we would be picked up in 3 hours after being given the boat ticket.
Fortunately there was just me and the friendly guide on the tour but unfortunately it was her first time driving someone on the tour so there were several wrong turns and wasted time. Her training should have been much better.
Cassis is a quaint and pretty country city. The guide was nice but didn't provide a ton of details on the location. On our own in Cassis to wander, but most stores weren't open that early. The boat tour was completely in French and we didn't understand a word — except Calanques.
