Beautiful scenery and a lovely guide. Weather did not permit us to cruise out to Calanques so we were fortunate to tour the Bodin winery for tasting. I purchased a few delicious wines and brought one home to the US for a treat. Go see the churches of Marseille and drive along the Mediterainean Sea. The color is aqua sometimes.
exelent service, great experiense. highly recomended.
i will book viator again. thank you!
Paco our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. His office people were not.
The tour to Cassis and near by and the fabulous Calanques by boat for 45 minutes was just unbelievable and absolutely worth seeing. We saw three Calanques and thoroughly enjoyed the trip to complete satisfaction,
It was exactly I dreamed. The guide's commentaries and her kindness were really what I needed. I highly recommend this tour, it's comfortable and joyful.
Our excellent English-major guide provided a personalized tour that fully met the sightseeing description and then some. If in Marseilles for several days, a worthwhile half-day side trip.
The guide was excellent and had a lot of local knowledge about Marseille and Provence in general.
One of the best tours we've been on. Great tour guide. Coverage was really good, especially being taken up to the church with the view over Marseille and down to the fishing village at the end of the road (very scenic). Guide also deviated to show one of the people something they particularly requested, but didn't make the tour run late or miss anything out. Well worth doing!
Great guide, wonderful tour of the Calanques and visit in Cassis.
My daughter and I enjoyed our tour. The guide who picked us up and drove us to Cassis was great. The guide on the boat ride did not speak in English, but instead handed us a piece of paper in English for us to read. The other 6 on the boat spoke another language, so I think he spoke in French. But that did not bother us, since we went mainly to enjoy the sights. Would have liked to see 2 more inlets. He drove us into 3. It was a gorgeous day, and the town was quaint. This was my 3rd Viator tour. I did 2 in Italy. You are very reliable, and I thank you!
Exploring the Calanques is really exciting, as each inlet is more spectacular than the last. The water is set against steep cliffs, with stunning beaches tucked into the inlets. Stunning, highly recommended.
It was a nice trip. The guide cum driver was really nice, helpful and knowledgeable....nice sense of humor also. Would recommend the same to my friends for sure
This tour gave us the highlights of Marseilles with excellent view points and descriptions of the history of such a cosmopolitan and fascinating city. Our guides Gail and Matthieu were prompt and professional..meeting us at Radisson Blu at the Vieux Port. The drive down to Cassis took us through an area of Marseilles busy with the fans of Rugby when Toulon were to play Toulouse...then on to the coastal resort of Cassis. Despite windy conditions our cruise of 3 Calanques went ahead..scenic and very comfortable. Followed by about an hour of free time in this small relaxed resort. We would recommend this 1/2 day tour for those without a car and with limited time.
Very knowlegable guide. Spectacular sights and enough time at each place. The cruise was amazing.
Gaille the guide was terrific and we would recommend her. The tour was very enjoyable and showed us jusgt what we wanted. Our only criticism is the the pickup and drop off at the Radisson Blu is not in a very convenient place and would be better nearer a train station.
Vanessa did a nice job of adapting the itinerary once we learned it would cover things in Marseille we'd seen with a Rick Steves tour that ended just the day before. We particularly enjoyed an impromptu visit to "the end of the world," and spending more time in Cassis than originally planned. Well done.
It was nice although the cruise trip was on our own. The conductor hand us a flyer with a picture of the road to navigate but he did not explain us what part of that diagram we were seeing. It was really short, the guide Mark, in the other hand was really nice and polite he was always concern about our comfort. He gave us references of other paces to visit.
The boat trip was great with a stunning coast line, magnificent inlets with clear blue water.cassis was very picturesque and the view above cap canaille was breathtaking. I would have liked to have known how many inlets we were to see. We saw 3 out of 9..
Loved our driver-tour guide (Virginia) and the scenery and sites were fabulous. Great for a couple or very small group. Only complaint was the inability to confirm/reach the local company in time to secure transportation from the port (we were on a cruise) rather than meeting in Marseille.
Not as good as it should have been (excluding the Calanques - see below) and certainly not as good as other tours we have taken with you. Key problem was that the guide was not familiar enough with the location because she was not a local and had only been there about a year. Please only use locals for your guides or at least people that are very knowledgeable about the location.
The Calanques boat ride was great with a very knowledgeable local guide and a very good ride within the calanques we entered.
The part with Casis was a "zero" with nothing to be added by the guide - a shame given the beauty and variety available there.
Lastly, the mini van was too small for the group and the back seat very uncomfortable.
You should not use that guide or that van in the future.
Fortunately there was just me and the friendly guide on the tour but unfortunately it was her first time driving someone on the tour so there were several wrong turns and wasted time. Her training should have been much better.
Cassis is a quaint and pretty country city. The guide was nice but didn't provide a ton of details on the location. On our own in Cassis to wander, but most stores weren't open that early. The boat tour was completely in French and we didn't understand a word — except Calanques.
