Long day, but great to sit in a comfortable mini bus with large windows and let Roy the driver/guide do all the work and commentary. Fab drive through tropical forests on the east coast with lots of great views. Interesting contrast along the south coast with spectacular views and very different vegetation. Yes, you could hire a car and drive it yourself, but I certainly know we did the right thing. Roy is so full of information it's amassing. Not that I agree with some aspects of his philosophy of life, but his knowledge on plants, history, culture etc was impressive.

The trip was great - so glad we didn't try and drive it; we would have missed a lot of the good spots to stop and not learned so much history of the island and the people. Tom, our tour guide, was really good.
If you stop at the little store of homemade goodies in Hana, try the banana macadamia nut bread and the homemade ginger ale.

This was an excellent tour of the Hana Coast. The scenery was spectacular with many waterfalls because of recent rains and coastal vistas. The driving was very safe and skillful, and the bus driver incorporated much information about the culture, horticulture, geology, music, and Maui history in his narration. Even the lunch stop was enjoyable.

Because the driver took a road which circumvented the Haleakala Mountain/Volcano, a short section of it was not paved, making for a rough ride. But all in all it was an excellent tour.

What a great day - we would never attempt to drive this road on our own but Larry our guide was terrific

Incredible drive, scenery was amazing. It is a drive I wouldn't want to do myself as the road is extremely narrow and in places only one lane.

We had an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable. She was also an excellent driver (glad we didn't attempt to drive ourselves) who knew those curvy roads inside and out. Our guide even took the time to teach all of us on the tour some Hawaiian words. This was a fun day for all. Glad we chose to take this tour.

This tour was excellent. The driver was extremely knowledgeable and we learned SO much about the history and culture of Maui. We made several stops for photos, plus extended stops at a black sand beach, the Seven Sacred Pools, a delicious organic farmers market lunch in Hana, and a wine tasting on the way back. It was great being able to sit back and enjoy the amazing views instead of having to drive. We also drove the "Back Road to Hana," which was a highlight for me, and a road that not many other people drive on their own. Highly recommended!!!

The tour guide was great! He was very knowledgeable about Maui and the history of the Hana and its agriculture and plant life. He took us to the Seven Sacred Pools, countless waterfalls, an organic farm to table for lunch, black beach sand, a free wine tasting vineyard, amongst others. He was a fountain of information. I learned so much that day, and saw so many beautiful sites!

I survived the road to Hana! This was a very exciting day, even though we spent a lot of time in the bus
